[ ah, the flood of new people.

rei has been watching the network for the past half-day or so, and carefully exploring the marsiva. she's run into a fellow fire princess, but has avoided most everyone else. instead, she's been listening. waiting, watching. absorbing as much as she can before recognizing that this is, indeed, not a joke.

she's no longer in adstringendum, but somewhere new. either castiel's ritual failed, or the animus decided to say one last 'fuck you' to their favorite shinto priestess before kicking her out the door. aelia, as always, is a cruel mistress.

so when rei turns on the feed, she looks like a typical eighteen-to-nineteen year old girl, but her eyes look a lot older. her hair is long and falls across her shoulders, and she's wearing a sweater, jeans, and boots -- all miraculously mended thanks to the atroma. how nice of them.

there's no hope in her expression, necessarily, but she can't help but ask : ]

Is there anyone here from Adstringendum?

[ that should bring out the familiars, anyway. and rei waits, almost as if she's expecting someone to burst in from off screen and go SURPRISE -- but when that doesn't happen, she continues, a bit wryly -- ]

If not, then I guess I have to start from scratch. Hino Rei, your new securities personnel. Or... whatever they call it.

[ she certainly doesn't look pleased about it, anyway, and finally, her expression breaks into something frustrated. ]

But if this so-called reality TV show thinks that they can just take over where the Animus left off, they have another thing coming, because I've had it up to here with --

[ and rei stops herself before gritting her teeth, exhaling slowly, and frowning into the camera. ]

When do I get off of this thing?

[ She's not thrilled by that either, believe her. But Haruka tends to believe in not rocking the boat until you're ready to sink it, so. ] Immediately. They allow transfers afterwards.

[ she wants to see haruka and michiru now, to ensure that they're real and present and alright. but she can't, and that's infuriating, and even more infuriating that she may not even be put on that ship to start with. ]

[ she will just have to be patient.

I'll transfer, then, as soon as I can. If they don't put me on that ship.

[ there is no option, man. ]

[ Given the network and the fact that Haruka actually trusts Rei to be able to look after herself (more news at 11), sharing a ship isn't as important to her. But she can tell how important it is to Rei, so rather than flippantly saying it's Rei's call or anything ~cool~ like that, she smiles the smile of someone who never struggles with impatience. ] We'll be waiting.

[ This also gives her time to figure out which of the questions she's got about Rei's situation are actually useful and therefore worth asking. Besides this one: ] How's your intuition?

[ Are you still able to sense stuff, etc? That'd be the first sign her powers have been messed with. ]

[ the question is an odd one, and rei blinks at haruka, her brow furrowing. ]

... I don't feel like anything bad is coming, if that's what you mean.

[ read: her intuition is intact, and fine. ]

And everyone I've met on the Marsiva is safe, for now.

[ Haruka nods. If something bad happens and Rei hasn't sensed it, they'll have their answer about powers.

Or well, she'll have hers. She's not explaining. ] Let's hope it stays that way.

[ -- the problem, though, with rei's intuition and her excellent ability to read people is usually that she can tell when people are lying to her. or hiding things. and her brow furrows slightly. ]

[ Gathering her thoughts before replying, Haruka shifts in the frame. ] What do you think the odds are of encountering other species out here?

[ Hint: better than you think. Apparently. And that's not even counting the machines implanted in their brains by some sort of kidnapping mastermind. ]

[ there's a silence before rei settles back against the wall, frowning. rei has been through this shock before, in adstringendum. but haruka obviously hasn't. and she'll need to catch haruka up on everything, and tell her everything, but first -- ]

[ pause ]

The planet I've been to wasn't so bad. But one of the ships in the Fleet doesn't look like the others.

[ Haruka is kind of glad she missed the zombie bug infestation, or...whatever that was. She's hazy on the details, but the details are Michiru's thing anyway, so who cares.

This is the kind of "meeting aliens" she's concerned about. Everybody captive with her she can stand since they're clearly not invading her Solar System, which is her only issue with aliens, anyway. ] They've fought.

The ship fought or the people on it fought?

[ it's been so long that she's almost forgotten what the outer senshi are like ]

Well, I wasn't assuming that you and Michiru-san decided to blow up a spaceship.

[ though it's really not outside the realm of possibility ]

[ IT IS ~THEIR WAY~, REI. No regrets, no apologies ~~, no doubt they could blow up a spaceship if they tried~~. ] We'll fill you in when we see you.

[ that's haruka for "it's a big deal but lol we got it don't worry" fucking outer senshi ]

[ but rei, even after so long, is mindful. she won't argue -- if haruka says it's best, then it's best. ]

I have to fill you in on a lot, too. So I guess we'll be even.

[ Rei understands, then. Good. Haruka grins, all of her Important Senshi Things said for the time being. ] Welcome to the show, then.
