[if anyone is looking for orion, he's been spending more and more time in the meditation room on the iskaulit than ever before. It's from right outside its doors that he sends this text.]

Hey, Fleet. Tell me your earliest memory.

Ah. Not that kind of woodcutting. He used to make woodcuts - take wooden planks and carve designs into them. Sorry, sometimes English terms still escape me.

He makes his living at our family's restaurant. I think he stopped making woodcuts when I was eight or so.

Mostly designs or traditional mythological beasts. Qilin was one of his favourites, if I remember right.

It's a mythological creature from China. Its form's changed some over the years, but it's always had parts of a dragon. It has scales, plus horns or antlers, and hooves. Sometimes, like the ones my father carved, it has the tail of a lion.

[Here, Winter. Have this attached picture of a Qilin-shaped incense burner.]

There are different names in different countries, too. I am, my parents immigrated to America when I was young.

Admittedly, I don't remember much of it. I wasn't more than two or three when we moved, just starting to really learn languages and the like.

I guess I never thought about it that way.

That's true, but I don't think it's all bad. The free time's weird, but easy to fill with studying and things.
