[Daenerys hadn't even had fortnight to settle in, to take in the situation she's found herself in. One moment she was in the almost safety of Drogon's company and the next she was surrounded by Dothraki. Now? She was.... looking at a strange speaking device? She learned enough that people could communicate with it, but not enough right away on how to do so herself. It takes her a moment to figure it out and when she finally does, her violet eyes are still wide with concern on the video feed. Once she realizes it's working, she tries to go for a more calm and assertive outward appearance.]

To think that such a place would be capable of stealing so many from their homes. I can't imagine the ransom they'd be seeking. I wish to speak to whoever thought it wise to attempt such a feat and if any others can provide valuable information, mayhap you'll receive a reward from me in return.

[Mostly her eternal gratitude, given that she had little else on her person in the way of money. Carefully, she tucks a stray silver lock behind her ear. She wanted to ask where Drogon was and yet she knew outright asking her captors where they'd taken her dragon might be too foolish of a thing to attempt.]

[His fingers have found the braid around the cuff of one sleeves and are plucking the threads apart slowly.]

Well, there's the O.Z., the Outer Zone, and there's the Other Side. The O.Z. is aware of the Other Side, but the Other Side don't know about us.

A slipper is someone who passes from the Other Side to the O.Z. without being brought here by someone. Tornadoes and other extreme storm events are a channel to the O.Z. and most slippers come through like that.

I see. It certainly sounds dangerous to find one's self caught in a tornado, however.

[She knows of storms, even if the rest of it escapes her. She'd been born during one such event, her mother dying to bring her into the world with the name Daenerys Stormborn.]

Oh, more people are killed than slip through. Far more. I'm not advocating it as a wise thing to do, but people who slip through are often caught in storms when it happens.

Of course, we can summon travel storms to move back and forth if we need to, but that hasn't really been done for generations.

You can summon storms? What sort of magic is that?

I can't, but it can be done. I don't have magic. I could do things that seemed like magic, but they weren't, they were just knowing what I was doing.

[There's that look again, as if he thinks she's someone she isn't. It honestly made her heart ache for him. To be such a confused person as he must be exhausting.]

[Whoever his Queen had been, she must have meant a great deal to him. Gently, she brings a hand to his, taking it in the hope that it might steady him.]
