I'd appreciate it if you didn't use the unreliability of this place as an excuse for not making a further commitment when you're willingly spending time with her and allowing both of your attachments to grow without applying the same concept.

But we can't have everything, I suppose.

If I can get off of this ship, if I can find a way - I'm going home with her. Back to her world. That's all that I can commit to right now. But I'm not going to ask her to marry a dead man. So you're saying that allowing her to get close to you and building up the hope of starting a new life with you back in our world -- one fractured and recovering from a war, where she'll have far more responsibilities and burdens put on her -- is acceptable to you, but expressing a desire to marry her when you may very well be trapped here indefinitely isn't?

If you're going to be selfish, at least be consistent.

[ tadashi shakes his head, expression shuttered. when he speaks, it's terse, through his teeth. ]
