A few things.

There are a good number of fighters here or people otherwise trained in combat. I'm interested in observing people's abilities or training, or at least discussing what they can do. Spars could also be arranged if you want some exercise.

Secondly, I'll take recommendations for good literature available around here.

Finally, if you know how to knit or crochet then I'll offer you up to ten credits to watch you create something.

Feel free to check, if you're so concerned. Are you more like an American, then?

[His middle finger, then, lazily extended. He doesn't know the Japanese equivalent, but then again, Sasuke isn't Japanese, is he? He's . . . something. Is he? Remus would ask, if he thought he'd get an answer.

He isn't tired any longer, but the floor is nice, and now he's staying there just to be stubborn.]

[ What did you expect. It's clear that the gesture is more familiar going by his expression, however, even if he seems no more impressed by it this way than he did the other. ]

[Growing up with Sirius has some perks, at least; he's far more of a sarcastic edge than he once did. The dryness in his tone is all him, though.

--although if Sasuke does come near, Remus' fingers are brushing against his wand. He isn't about to earn ratings that way, thank you.]

[A compromise: he raises up on his elbows, his fingers wrapped loosely around his wand.]

The pitch of your words does not impress me. You could still have the voice of a castrated man. [ Considering that Sasuke's voice is quite deep, this isn't completely unfair. Except for the part where it is, and the part where this thread has taken a dive off of a cliff. ]

I'm meant to show you how chakra works, aren't I? I'm not doing it with you on the floor, and I'm not continuing a discussion about romance either.

[But that's muttered, and he gets up, stretching his arms idly. He shoves his wand in his back pocket and waits.]

No, I encouraged you to be more verbally assertive and you waved a finger at me and tried to protect your modesty. You brought it all upon yourself.

[ So he says as he looks away from Remus momentarily, again withdrawing a knife. He holds it out for him to see before his fingers uncurl from it, the handle of the blade still staying affixed to his palm despite how it faces the floor. ]

[Oh my wizarding god. He could argue-- in fact, he thinks of a retort-- but being older means being the more mature one. So he bites his tongue and watches.

The demonstration, at least, is fascinating. Remus pushes his frustration to the side in favor of studying his palm, the knife.]

How? Chakra, I know, but--

It requires a precise stream of chakra to be channeled through the point of contact in order to maintain adhesion. Too little and you lose your contact. Too much -- [ And here he increases that energy, the knife repelled from his hand with such force that it actually bounces back up off the floor in a noisy clatter. ] -- and you repel the object in question, or damage it.

It's all about balance and control.

What would happen if I tried to take the knife from you while you were attached to it? Would it simply stick? Would you have to increase your chaka output?

[He picks up the knife curiously. He's never seen one built specifically as a weapon; only kitchen knives. It's far lighter than he expected, and he hefts it curiously. ]

You'd have to be stronger than my chakra is in order to take it from me. Which, if I channeled more into my grip to hold on it, is currently impossible for you.

[ He gestures to Remus's upper arm, as if the clarification was needed. ]

You're still pretty weak.

So it's partially physical.

[Fascinating. He forgets his irritation entirely in favor of curiosity.]

But partially mental, I should imagine?

It requires melding both energies into one, the sum total of your body's capability. While it's possible to increase your chakra by training your body and subsequently also increasing your stamina, it's not being used efficiently if you haven't also meditated and practiced mental control as well.

Don't you channel energy for your spells?

Yes. But not, I think, as intensely as you do. Our trickiest spells require certain states of mind and emotion to work, but you can get by on basic ones for your entire life if you don't want to.

Sounds convenient. But it's fine like this; I never cared for doing things the easy way.

[ No, he can't really imagine a scenario in which their places were switched and he doesn't want to. His struggles have become much too fundamental to his identity. ]

Hold out your right hand, palm up.

[He obeys, albeit just a little nervously-- he sees that knife, and-- well, it's not like he thinks he's going to be stabbed, but then again Sasuke had just thrown a bunch of knives at him. But probably he won't stab him. Probably.]

[ Sasuke reaches out to take that knife back from Remus after his attention is also brought back to it, spinning it once... before thankfully tucking it away again, not particularly interested in interacting with Remus's blood more than necessary after all. Who knows what could happen. ]

Don't be so unsure. [ He suddenly grips Remus's wrist, a calloused thumb swiping a rough line over veins before he's focusing chakra there, allowing him to feel just enough pressure and warmth that it's noticeable. ]

... hm. Are you able to channel your energy into your hand? It may require extra focus for someone like you.

[His fingers curl, inhaling slightly as he feels the warmth there. It's like magic and not-- it's the same warm energy he finds when he grips his wand, when he calls it to his hand.

It takes some concentration-- more than he usually does. But he manages it, warmth extending into each of his fingers, and nods.]

Like that?

[ He can feel it immediately, attuned to that energy and waiting for it, hardly needing the sharingan to aid him in tracking that concentration of chakra. ]

Somewhat. It's clear to me that you have enough chakra, you just aren't utilizing enough of it when you're focusing. It's too weak. [ It's like those push-ups he'd down before. He's capable, sure, but unpracticed. ]

I expected that.

All right.

[He tries not to be offended at that. It's easier than before; just a tinge of it, easily pushed away. Remus stares down at his hand, mouth pursed as he tries to concentrate. Summoning magic to a specific part of himself isn't something he's ever done before-- but it's not impossible. Slowly, flickering back and forth, his hand gathers energy.]

[ He doesn't look away, noting Remus's increased effort and waiting -- as patiently as he ever can -- for the result. Again he wants to be critical but he wouldn't have expected instant perfection. Just demand it. Like an asshole.

His own chakra flares up in response, pushing back to try to spur Remus's on further before he finally pulls his own hand back. ]

If you practice strengthening and maintaining it you may be able to make use of it after all.

[It's difficult not because of the technique, but because it's so foreign to him. Still, even as Sasuke pulls his hand back, Remus maintains the flow of energy, keeping it in the palm of his hand.]

Another exercise to add to my list, hm?

[But he will. He wants to try and learn this new method of magic, just as he wants to learn wandless magic. Not for power's sake, but for knowledge's.]

One in which I expect you to perform better.

Control of your chakra will start with your fuller understanding and awareness of it, which will in term come from meditation and the familiarization of your paths of energy. You aren't a physical person and thus already seem incredibly out of touch with your body. [ Gentle as ever. ]
