[ the girl who sits in front of the camera seems as if she is quite well-versed in this manner of communication. if she had spent precious time watching others from afar before trying her hand at it as to not look foolish, it does not show. the only hint of how foreign she is to this setting is her manner of dress but give it a few seconds and you might start thinking this is somehow natural, too.

after all, she does seem very comfortable. Margaery's smile is sweet and bright, her hair is flowing down her shoulders and a few roses are placed neatly in her lap, almost a portrait-worthy moment before she speaks. ]

If I am not entirely mistaken, these are our best chance of speaking to one another. I did not wish to appear ill-mannered in failing to introduce myself.

I understand we are to spend quite some time together and it would please me to know each and every one of you. I am certain you have fascinating tales to tell of your time here or where you come from; if you ever wish to share, I shall be honored to provide company. I know little of such vessels and adventures but I am keen to learn all that I may.

How sweet and comforting you are, I thank you for the kind sentiments. I admit, I would never imagine a place such as this but it is indeed the farthest I have ever been from home.

[The way titles work clearly differs between their respective planets, and she doesn't want to expect a stranger to learn the Alderaanian titles of address. It's unlikely they're even from the same galaxy--what would be the point?]

It's surprising for a lot of people here, especially those who haven't traveled in space before.

If anyone were to offer the idea in my realm, others would name them either mad or intoxicated. I am from a realm named Westeros, there are some others from that realm here, it would seem.

Yes--space travel is common where I'm from. Expensive sometimes, but being dragged into the Fleet probably doesn't seem quite as crazy to me as it does to you.

You're one of a few people from Westeros here. I spoke with a Lady Stark a week or two ago--do you know her?

[Normally, she wouldn't assume, but Leia knows how small the upper classes of planets can be. It seems likely they travel similar circles.]

Lady Sansa is a sweet friend. How glad I am that she is keeping company here with so many who seem just as kind as she is.

[ the girl had ill-luck at her own realm, has lost once and then again but held her head and kept her courtesy and margaery had always seen it as a sign of strength. what shall this realm make of sansa stark is left to be seen but margaery's regard of her remains as high as ever. ]

Yes, I have heard. Such fine news, I cannot imagine how sweet it is to have come so far and yet find your kin here.

[ she has none, at the moment. but mayhaps that, too, is a blessing. loras would be restless upon these odd ships, unable to ride and joust, willas favors highgarden and his reading and garlan belongs at the side of his lady wife. ]

I expect it makes this foreign place a shade more familiar, at least.

As much as this place can be made familiar--it does.

[Until kin you don't like show up, of course, but she can't deny that the presence of one's siblings makes a difference. Her own twin's absence is still something she feels.]

Do you have any brothers or sisters?

Three brothers, as it stands.

[ were she to marry joff, she will have another brother and a sister but as that has not happened, she will not include any that is not of her house. ]

It must be nice to have so many brothers. [Pleasant conversation, certainly, but also genuinely meant. She went long enough without any siblings that she knows how lonely it can be.] Especially as well-bred as yours.

At times, I wanted a sister. Women understand women, I am certain you know what I mean.

For men, it is always a little bit more difficult.

I'm afraid my aunts and I never understood each other as well as we might have.

[They'd wanted a dress-up doll, and she'd wanted the grass stains from her defense lessons.]

But eventually, we got along. [A little smile. She misses them still.] And I do know what it's like to want a sister.

It is a kindness that we have a chance of meeting those who would be close enough to be considered family. You and I have yet a chance to have sisters, mayhaps not in the traditional manner.
