[A woman in green looks down at the camera, red curls spilling over her face as she inspects it with a gentle, if somewhat unamused look in her eye. She got the briefing it seems, and she's not happy but shouting is only giving her captors what they want. Silent for a few moments, her head quirks to one side a fraction, a bit like a bird studying the ground.

Seeming to come to a conclusion, she nods to herself and finally speaks. Her tone is formal and polite, though there is an undercurrent of uncertainty. Would she be speaking to nobody?]

I understand I'm to be residing aboard this...fleet...and that these communication devices are how we connect with one another. And that means introductions.

[A breath as she seems to compose herself, pushing hair out of her eyes and smiling genially. Her moment of weakness and uncertainty was done.]

My name is Nomi Sunrider, currently of Coruscant. I believe I have an understanding of the basics of what happened, though I would appreciate information that our hosts have not provided. I'd also like to know more about you, whomever might be listening to this. There's little point in being whisked away to another...reality...[She grimaces around the words.] and not at least learning from the experience. [Best to be diplomatic, right?] A name, a favored story, anything. It'd be more worthwhile and significantly less maddening than this horrible canned music.

[Her eyes close, head swiveling slightly to the left as something catches her attention.]

And I feel a handful of individuals strong in the Force present here. I would appreciate it if you would contact me. [A deep, deep frown.] And tell me, why do I sense my daughter's presence?

[ He nods, with brisk, military formality. ]

[Vima senses it too, even before Nomi's face appears on her screen, and sits bolt upright. She stares at it. Then she runs to the piloting station and switches on her own feed as she sets a course--which she knows is pointless, since she can't actually board the Marsiva, but.]

Mother! You're--[here, yes, but Vima takes a closer look at her face. The Nomi she left looked like a woman worn by years of care and concern--but now her face is unlined, she's in the green robes she'd favored about ten years ago--she's complaining about the music?

This is Nomi the Knight, not the Grand Master.]--you're here. And, uh, you sensed right--I'm here, and there's a bunch of other Jedi too.

[oh man WHERE TO BEGIN. WHAT TO SAY. especially to a mother who won't know what's been happening for ten years of her and Vima's own lives. is this before or after Ulic's fall? she's gonna have questions--how to answer them?]

It's been a long time since I've been on Coruscant.

[He's not exactly piping in for confessions of Force sensitivity, but he's not not showing up for role call. There is something vaguely familiar about her sort of like when watching a holo and not being able to remember the name of one of the actors in it.]

[Daughters just pop up all over the place here, Nomi. You get used to it. Maybe.

Regardless, Leia takes her cue from Nomi and lets the mantle of diplomat settle around her shoulders before she answers.]

It's a pleasure to speak with you. My name is Leia Organa, and I'd be happy to answer any questions you have about our present situation. Unfortunately, I can't promise that the answers will be satisfactory.

[That last bit is a little more wry.]

As instructed, she locks the line to the two of them without any difficulty.]

Done. I believe.

[Now why lock it?]

Thank you for the response. Where should I begin?

Well -- your daughter Vima is a member of my crew. My name is James Barnes, I'm captain of the SS Heron, one of the smaller ships that follows the one you're on.

[Nomi's still the Grandmaster, though newly minted into the position and unravaged by it's difficulties. She's still young, cheerful, her face decidedly more open but still seasoned. Veteran of the war and planning it's recovery, it's not been all that long.

Ready for just about anything, though the sight of her teenage daughter has her eyes nearly popping out of her head. She'd gone to sleep in her chambers with a baby in the next room, a nurse droid on hand and woken up in another reality where Vima was grown, alive and thrumming with the Force.

She chokes back a gasp and stares silently for a half second.]

Vima. You. You're grown. [Shaking her head.] How?

It's a nice place, all things considered.

[She flashes a little smile, glad that someone at least has heard of Coruscant. It's a relief, after having skimmed some of the previous broadcasts.

But ah, small talk first. Get to know the people, that's usually best.]

Why'd you leave, may I ask?

[seaoflight]

[Nomi's lips quirk up in a smile at that greeting. A Togruta, species she wasn't overly familiar with, but human-like, carnivorous. Master Draay's apprentice was one, though she'd never spoken to the woman at length. This one though, had a decidedly less hardbitten edge, if that was her reaction.]

Seriously.

[What else do you say to that?]

[Flippant answers come to mind--three square meals a day, drink your milk. But that may not be the best here. Vima iss pretty sure she didn't have that attitude when she was four.]

Well--Atroma, the being that took us--can reach through time and space.

So I'm fourteen now. [and a Jedi hoo boy THAT ONE... HOW DOES SHE EVEN EXPLAIN THAT ONE.........]

...At least we're in the same millenium.

[Oh spare her that much. One is enough, she's not sure she could handle twins and another.

The diplomatic look in Leia's eye is met with a polite, though easygoing and incredibly genuine smile. She wasn't a great diplomat by any stretch of the word, she was bad at putting on faces that weren't her own but thankfully that face was a friendly one.]

I appreciate it, Lady Organa? [There's a query there as much as anything. Is she a noble of the House Organa? Alderaanian politics she didn't know well, but she did know that house had recently ascended to prominence.]

First and foremost, is there any truth to the claim that we're being recorded for an audience? I know what I was told, but was shown nothing to corroborate that.

Captain Barnes, then, or do you prefer James?

[She puts on as cheerful a smile as she can.]

Has Vima been any trouble?

[seaoflight]

[She wasn't terribly talkative at that age about much of anything, let's be honest. Nomi's brow wrinkles a little bit in consternation at that statement. Her own answer is dry, almost cranky]

Space I understood, but why not time, of course. Who am I to argue with what's right in front of me.

[Rubbing her palm against her forehead, already feeling a headache coming on, she takes a second to process that last statement. Business first, then we'll come back to the migraine inducing fact that she's missed a decade of her daughter's life!]

When you say millennium, you mean that there are others from our reality...is that even the right word? ... who are from later or earlier in time?

Princess [the kind of correction that comes instinctively], but 'Leia' is fine.

[There's no point in standing on ceremony, especially not when they're out of time and place alike. With neither Alderaan nor the remaining Alderaanian people at her back, being a princess of the royal house of Alderaan means far less than being herself.]

You'll have to take that on faith--if you want to. I have my own doubts, but we don't have much evidence either way.

Leia then. And thank you for the straightforward answer.

[She's not Alderaanian, and she's shown little actual concern for the politics of kings and queens on Onderon or the Empress Teta system. The Jedi of her time are outside the Republic and outside politics...a good and bad place to be really.

Thinking a little out loud, she goes on]

I suppose a lot of how do I get home and where am I should come next, but I assume if you knew you'd have left by now. So, how long have you been here?

[ Coruscant at first sets off alarm bells for Hera. These days, anyone from Coruscant is probably with the Empire. But that's not how it used to be, and as soon as the woman mentions the Force, a few more pieces slip into place.

She's definitely not with the Empire if she's talking about the Force. So, the past, then. A Jedi, most likely. Another Jedi. Hera is starting to feel outnumbered in more ways than one. ]

Nice to meet you - Master Sunrider? I'm Hera Syndulla. Not a Jedi myself, but there are several here.

[seaoflight]

[Another alien, this time a twi'lek. She sizes Hera up with a quick glance and offers a quick smile.]

Grandmaster, actually. [The kind of correction that doesn't quite feel right to Nomi, but Thon and the others had impressed upon her the importance of the title.] But just Nomi is fine. I'm not one to stand on formality in strange situations.

And it's a pleasure, Hera. I hope you'll forgive me if I seem direct, but how many?

[ Grandmaster. So, probably the highest-ranking Jedi she's met so far. That's... impressive. ]

Nomi, then. And I'm not entirely sure, but there might be as many as half a dozen now including you.

Fair warning, though - a lot of us are from... different times.

[There aren't too many, since it's an elected position...that she'd tried to turn down twice...]

Six. Right. And I...believe I understand your meaning. Why wouldn't our hosts bring us from different point in time.

[Why is my child a 14 year old smartass?]

I suppose that you're not from mine, if you're unfamiliar with my name. It was...ah...all over the Holonet not too long ago.

I hope I can say this without it sounding weird, but--

You were kind of one of my heroes, growing up.

[Flatly:] I didn't really care for the new neighbors.

You're a Jedi? [He's hesitant if only because Jedi didn't tend to have daughters. Well, that was his old presumption anyway until Anakin seemed to have thrown a spanner in that notion.]

[firstrebel]

Yeah, in my time - well, any Jedi that are alive during my time are fugitives and you wouldn't see them on the Holonet unless they were being arrested.

[ And probably not even then, because the Empire doesn't really like to acknowledge that the Jedi ever existed in the first place. ]

[Nope. That's not weird to hear at all, ever, under any circumstances ever. =|]

I'm...not entirely sure why. But...thank you?

[She doesn't miss the sarcasm, but she doesn't have enough context to piece it out as anything yet.]

I am. [His hesitation is also picked up on, an eyebrow lifting.] Is that a problem?
