[A woman in green looks down at the camera, red curls spilling over her face as she inspects it with a gentle, if somewhat unamused look in her eye. She got the briefing it seems, and she's not happy but shouting is only giving her captors what they want. Silent for a few moments, her head quirks to one side a fraction, a bit like a bird studying the ground.

Seeming to come to a conclusion, she nods to herself and finally speaks. Her tone is formal and polite, though there is an undercurrent of uncertainty. Would she be speaking to nobody?]

I understand I'm to be residing aboard this...fleet...and that these communication devices are how we connect with one another. And that means introductions.

[A breath as she seems to compose herself, pushing hair out of her eyes and smiling genially. Her moment of weakness and uncertainty was done.]

My name is Nomi Sunrider, currently of Coruscant. I believe I have an understanding of the basics of what happened, though I would appreciate information that our hosts have not provided. I'd also like to know more about you, whomever might be listening to this. There's little point in being whisked away to another...reality...[She grimaces around the words.] and not at least learning from the experience. [Best to be diplomatic, right?] A name, a favored story, anything. It'd be more worthwhile and significantly less maddening than this horrible canned music.

[Her eyes close, head swiveling slightly to the left as something catches her attention.]

And I feel a handful of individuals strong in the Force present here. I would appreciate it if you would contact me. [A deep, deep frown.] And tell me, why do I sense my daughter's presence?

[There aren't too many, since it's an elected position...that she'd tried to turn down twice...]

Six. Right. And I...believe I understand your meaning. Why wouldn't our hosts bring us from different point in time.

[Why is my child a 14 year old smartass?]

I suppose that you're not from mine, if you're unfamiliar with my name. It was...ah...all over the Holonet not too long ago.

[firstrebel]

Yeah, in my time - well, any Jedi that are alive during my time are fugitives and you wouldn't see them on the Holonet unless they were being arrested.

[ And probably not even then, because the Empire doesn't really like to acknowledge that the Jedi ever existed in the first place. ]

[That's not something Nomi ever expected to hear. She blinks, holds up a hand and shakes her head.]

Fugitives? What do you mean, fugitives?

[firstrebel]

[ Hera doesn't like doing this again, but better her than someone else, she figures. And there's no sense acting like it's some kind of secret when everyone else from their galaxy basically knows about it. ]

In my time, the Jedi Order no longer exists. Even talking about the Jedi can get you in big trouble. I don't mean to be blunt, but it's kind of impossible to avoid finding out about this what with the others here from our world.

[She likes doing it about as much as Nomi likes hearing it. And she'd rather hear it than not.]

No. No, it's something I'll need to know. Thank you. But...[Swallowing, she brushes hair out of her face.]

How? I...we...the Sith were destroyed at Yavin IV...

[firstrebel]

I don't know anything about Sith. One of the other Jedi here - Obi-Wan Kenobi - he said it's probably Sith, somehow, but all I know is that there was a war, and all the Jedi were wiped out. At least, that's what the Empire says - what used to be the Republic became the Empire, and their story is that the Jedi betrayed them.

[A name she files away for later, nodding.]

The Empire wiped out the Jedi, and the Republic used to be the...

[Stars above this is just...]

I don't even know what to say. When?

[firstrebel]

Twelve or so years ago, in my timeline. I was just a kid.

How far into the future from me is this?

[She offers a date, that's...well, it's the old, old system of dating things, but if Hera's able to work through two conversions, it's about four thousand years.]

[firstrebel]

[ That takes Hera a moment to really work through, and when she does, she pauses, her eyes widening a bit.

Everyone else here, as far as she knows, is from within about thirty years of her, give or take. This is... not. ]

Um. A really long time. Several thousand years.

[seaoflight]

[Of course. Why wouldn't it...]

Then it cannot be helped. Not by me, at any rate. [A sigh.]

Forgive me, Hera. That's a lot to hear.

[Your life's work undone and all...]

[firstrebel]

[ She gets it. Well, sort of. In the vague sense of knowing that things are happening that you're powerless to stop, anyway. ]

Nothing you can do, no.

[ Which is to say, the world doesn't end, and there are still people willing to fight for something better. ]

[Nomi smiles at that, not quite so forced this time.]

No, but there's always you. And the other people here. And I am not without some wisdom to impart.

[You know, assuming that memories don't poof.]

Hey, the more Jedi the better, as far as I'm concerned. I never for a moment believed they turned traitor.

It's not really something we do, no.

[A wry smile.]
