[The last time this girl appeared on the network, she was in quite a hot rage, so it might be odd to see her looking quiet and pensive now. Sad, despite a slight smile, to those who really look closely.]

I've been away for awhile - don't ask, I don't quite understand it myself - but apparently I've come back just in time for Valentine's Day to be around the corner. And normally I'd be the last person to bring up something like this, but...

[But what? She doesn't say, just asks her question.]

... have you ever been in love? What were they like? What really made you think "My god, this is the one" when there are so many other people out there who might've been just as good? And I mean, if you're in love right now and you still want to answer, it needn't be past tense. I suppose - I just don't quite understand this either, I never have, but that doesn't stop it from happening.

[She appears to be at a loss for a moment, before shaking her head and chuckling to herself.]

My mates would laugh themselves sick if they could hear me now.

[ rei tries to ignore valentine's day and white day since nathaniel left -- and it's been such a long time since she's seen him, that she should be over it by now. but it's hard to forget someone who you deeply loved that much, and someone who changed your perspective so sharply. ]

He was brilliant. A politician, and amazingly smart. He could probably sell you your own soul for a nickel if you'd let him, but he was passionate, and wanted to do what was right. He never stopped working to make the world we were in better, and he was always quick to defend me even though I could take care of myself.

[ she hasn't talked about nathaniel in so long, but this girl seems to need the comfort. ]

I haven't seen him in years. He's home, now.

[Getting such an open, frank response right off the bat is a bit of a surprise to her. But she respects the gesture, listening with her head slightly cocked, nodding here and there.]

The world you were in... does that mean that his home isn't your home? [It's asked as gently as possible.] Everyone here seems to have hopped worlds at least once or twice, not just me. That's why the wording caught my attention.

[ she's long since past being devastated, and she's done her mourning for nathaniel. but it's still a wound. ]

It's the world I was in before I got brought to the Fleet.

[Celeste gives a little nod at the confirmation, lips sucked between her teeth for a moment before she releases them along with a sigh.]

He sounds lovely. Remarkable, really - there's nothing quite like someone who could wreak complete havoc for whatever reason, or in whatever way, and chooses not to.

[She's known the ones who did and the ones who decidedly didn't, turning their abilities or skills to the worst possible uses and reveling in it; while the bad boys always have their appeal for her, the good ones seem to capture her heart.]

I was in a place called Eudio before this. Just a city, or at least we never saw anything beyond it. And it was the same idea, people from all sorts of worlds brought together and left to make do in the confusion. It was consensual at least, they recruited us instead of kidnapping us, but.

["But" again, with nothing following it. Again.]

But then you wound up here.

[ she finishes, with a slight frown. ]

We escaped Adstringendum, and I was supposed to go home -- but I wound up here. Atroma grabbed me before I could make it back.

[ that's a lot easier to believe than the fact that the ritual just failed and send her somewhere crazy. ]

... and he was remarkable.

... well, yes. Then I wound up here. I was on my way home as well, I'd finished up my business there. But - I'd made a whole life for myself in the meantime, and he was a part of it. A huge part of it.

[She frowns at the other woman's story, since it sounds a lot more dramatic, and like even more a betrayal than her own.]

I'm really starting to hate this Atroma - whatever it is. Snatching people up is bad enough, but when you've already escaped a similar place, you've bloody well earned the right to some time where you belong. That's bollocks.

It's pretty terrible. I'm sorry that it happened to you, too.

[ with a sigh, and rei pushes her hair out of her eyes ]

I guess I'm used to these... overlord things, from Adstringendum, so I wasn't really surprised on that part. But I am sick of being yanked around to where I'm not supposed to be. I'll just have to figure out a way to get out of this world, too. -- and maybe you can figure out a way to get back to this Eudio place, to find your partner.

He's probably more likely to find me, if we're to find each other at all... it's quite a long and complicated story, but at the end of it, he'll be able to travel across time and space and all manner of universes. I would've been holding tight and waiting if I'd made it home, so I suppose now I just have to do the same here.

[There are a world of unanswered questions in that statement, even with her waving the beginning and middle off as a long story: can places like this be found, what with the overlords? Couldn't people with that sort of ability just barge in and shut down these operations if they weren't cloaked somehow? And some people do have it naturally, she remembers the Doctor talking about what he could do very well. Interdimensional kidnappers must have shored up their defenses against that sort of thing, right?

But she needs to believe right now. She needs to go against character and believe blindly, against the odds, to get through this. So she does.]

Which isn't to say I don't want to hear about it if - well, let's be optimistic here, when you do find the way out. I'm sure I'll be far easier to find where I'm meant to be, after all.

[ ... ha. ]

That's a useful ability.

[ and she offers celeste a smile, a genuine one ]

I'm sure you're right, and he'll come find you as soon as he's able. I wouldn't give up hope, while being here.

It's a bit mad, isn't it, I can't imagine how he thought of it. But it works out well for me.

[Her smile is fond, in spite of her words - it's really how she shows her affection most of the time, in little jabs and teasing insults, and her voice was warm enough to make that evident.]

Thank you. I have to say that there's a very... well, perhaps it's only unusual to me, but a very unfamiliar feeling of support here that comes from nearly everyone. It's a - warm environment, considering how we all came to be here.
