[It had been a rough month for a lot of the Blue Fish crew. From blenders to family members and lost friends and blocked credits, they'd been soldiering on through a lot. And while Jilly was new enough to have skirted by most of the drama, she was keenly aware of the underlying stress of her crewmates. She wants to help.

Sometimes, though, words aren't enough...and so she sets about taking advantage of her augment to the best of her ability. For the past month she's been collecting recipes from the datary and experimenting with the supplies provided by the Atroma. And, in the days leading up to the 7th, she quietly recruits Beverly for a pair of extra hands with some Station grocery shopping and behind-the-scenes planning.

It's not announced, but on such a small ship it's hard to miss that something is going on that day. Forgoing her usual trip to the Station for job hunting and people watching, Jilly gets up extra early and sets the kitchen in motion. Recipes are taped up on the cabinets, ingredients are gathered, and so begins a marathon of food.]

[Between the combined forces of Jilly and Beverly, the two "cooks" for the Blue Fish will be setting out food all day as a bit of a much needed holiday for their crew (and any visitors who stop by). Volunteer as a taste-tester, grab food on the run, help clean dishes between baking bouts, or simply sit and relax with your crew mates. Food therapy is a go.]

[ And isn't that an odd response, an actual reassurance instead of some egotistical 'you couldn't even if you tried'. Honestly he seems a little off his game, apparently distracted as he needlessly looks over the crates that are identical to those on his own ship. ]

I wouldn't say I'm close to him now. I haven't seen him for years, and this Naruto doesn't remember Paradisa.

He knows some things. There was a version of me at Adstringdeum.

[WHy is he being honest with this with Sasuke? Well. Maybe because he doesn't feel like he has much to lose.]

But no, I doubt he knows much about me. Like you are with Zuko.

The Naruto that you knew, and your friendship. Just how much did he share with you and how close did you become?

It depends on what you mean by "settled".

[ And he's actually genuine in requesting the clarification, not just trying to be difficult. For once. ]

...Well, honestly, at this point? I'd settle for "we won't do anymore battles that'd require a medic afterwards".

That much I can't promise. Even my spar with Ino required that.

It's just how we fight. We don't consider it a bad thing.

[...Dammit Ino. Still, he knows lots of people have sparred Ino without getting broken bones, including himself. Ino only uses that kind of force if she's pushed- which guess who he's willing to believe did.]

Tch, of course you don't see it as a bad thing.

It's part of my and Ino's culture. We're raised to fight and to accept simple wounds like that, and if she's given you another impression it's because she's lied for your comfort or tried to adapt to changes here. You should try to be aware of that if you're so close to her.

I know about that part of Konoha's culture, thank you.

But I also know there's lots of good ninjas that manage to spar without it ending in broken or severed limbs, Ino included. Severely injuring your own allies or forcing them to fight at that level in practise doesn't make you a good fighter. It just weakens your team.

A broken wrist isn't a severe injury. If you disagree then that's just further evidence of the dissonance between our experiences.

Neither of us are weakened for it and taking it to that level in regards to this example just makes you sound meddling and pious. She's the one that broke my wrist, so aren't you delivering your lecture to the wrong person anyway?

I'm not trying to sound meddling or pious. You're the who refuses to promise not to hurt their best friend bad enough to need a medic. Most people don't have trouble making that promise, even people from your world.

And I'm not going to lecture Ino, because I know her well enough to know her breaking your wrist was purely an accident, and that she didn't delay in healing it herself. I can't say the same for you.
