Who: Logan
Broadcast: Fleet wide
Action: The Marsiva
When: Now!

MEANWHILE...

[He's a Canadian Bub and he just woke up on the Marsiva. With all the shit that he'd been dealing with lately trying to track down Romulus and deal with his demented son, he might have handled this whole being in space thing a whole lot worse. Instead the feed opens with Logan standing in front of the viewing bay with his hands in his pockets and a less than pleased expression written in his features.]

Damn. Space again.

[It wasn't like he went into space all the time, but he didn't especially enjoy it. He could be seen tapping the glass gently with the business end of one metal claw protruding from his wrist. Well, he sure as hell hoped there was someone around who was a better pilot in zero atmosphere than he was. Besides, at least he couldn't see Galactus out there.

Later when the feed cuts off, Logan will try getting past the visitor's area of the Marsiva by trying to cut a path through one of the walls with his claws. Unfortunately besides making some very unpleasant sounds, he doesn't seem to succeed in cutting his way through. Too bad.]

"Lucky for me, my likability is off the charts," she answered -- whip-quick, but without too much bright-eyed idealism. The situation was, as yet, too precarious to be too presumptuous. And so the words fall more like second nature than proud declaration. Kate crosses her arms. And she watched him watch her.

"--You don't even recognize me, do you." She huffed. Typical big-shot Avenger.

She wasn't all that offended. Not truly. After all, he was Wolverine and she was -- well, she knew who she was. Their circles co-mingled only in the most superficial of ways. And (frankly) she'd known him by 'Wolverine' well before she picked up any costume of her own. The Avengers were living legends, after all.

"Kate," she said. And a muscle in her arm twitched, as if she was still deciding whether to offer a handshake. "Bishop. It's okay if you don't, you know. My feathers aren't ruffled."

Something in her expression fell. Multiverse shit. It rang an unpleasant bell -- one which she'd tried to forget time and time again, but which she wouldn't allow an inch of headway. No ground given.

Bluntly: "But you're still an Avenger, right?"

Because that's all I care about. Everything else was details.

"Young Avenger," she supplied him with the answer. Smooth as silk. "And that's practically the same thing, if you ask Captain America."

Except some days Kate didn't want to ask Captain America. Some days, Captain America could go suck an egg. Either way, she'd try and play this card for as long as she could. It was always doubly-humiliating when she had to drop Barton's name in order to get anything done.

"With the bow," Kate nodded. "Which I notice didn't follow me here."

She could try and quibble over what was or was not Cap's intention, but it seemed about as fruitless as bickering over Beatles' lyrics. So, instead, she looked on the brightside. Hey, at least he didn't call her Lady Hawk or She-Clint or something else equally horrifying.

"--They left my with my phone, but," she dug the piece of tech out of her pocket. Plenty of battery life, but no bars. "Not very helpful. Aaaand." Kate sorted through the other stuff in her palm. "A dog treat, three pennies, and a bobby pin."

Hmph. "MacGyver'd be a godsend right about now."

"Actually, there's a cafeteria just--" she turned her upper-body, glancing back in the direction from whence she came. It wasn't exactly as gourmet as the stuff she was used to eating -- especially when Papa Bishop took her out to bribe her goodwill with good food -- but as she'd passed by she'd sorta...naturally understood how to squeeze some decent sustenance out of the place.

Well, when in Space-Rome.

"Wanna grab lunch?"

"Cool," she tries not to hyperventilate. Because she just invited Wolverine to do lunch. Wasn't that just so Avengers-y of her? If Kate's cheeks appear a little flushed, then it has little to do with fluster or modesty. Instead, it's a lot like a small-time musician meeting Madonna. Or Beyoncé. Wolverine, you are the Queen Bey of the superhero world. For once, she was starting to get why Billy and Teddy made such a big deal out of these guys.

Kate's medium height was all in her legs -- and those legs brought her striding back down the hall from whence she came. "I have a really good feeling about the pale green cubes. I think if we chop them up and toss them in some of that darkish coloured gel, and serve it over crushed rice-coloured lumps...we might actually be able to makeshift ourselves a Combo Number A."

Somehow, it all just clicked. Kate hopped the self-serve station at the cafeteria and started gathering up globs of protein for her own use. A little bit of this and a little bit of that and (with little more than a plastic knife to help the process) she ends up with something that (if you squint) might be a convincing stand-in for tofu teriyaki over rice and peas. Frankly, she surprised herself.

Kate dropped a plate in front of Wolverine and, with doubt in her voice: "I...don't usually do this sorta thing."

Spoken like a prom queen taking a sip from the rebel's flask. This felt unlike herself.

"Downright passable."

She speared a forkful of her own portion. Michelin Star dining this ain't, but she could recall a handful of months ago when she'd been so broke in LA that she'd nearly started chowing down on cat-food. The feline she'd been pet-sitting was a picky son of a bitch, and would only eat the stuff with the green label. Like some sorta fool, she always bought the cat's food before her own.

"So." She chewed. She swallowed. "How long've you been here?"

"Me, too. Nearish enough."

Was that a clue? Some kinda simultaneous grab from home. Because she as quick to accept him as being from home, unwilling to entertain another foray into the mayfly dimensions. Kate chased a bit of tofu-looking protein around the plate.

"Hate the music."

"Alternates? Yeah."

Her shrug was sorta mild. Like she cared, but didn't want to make it obvious that she cared a lot.

"For all we know, you and me might not be from the same address. I don't even know how to begin having that conversation. When any one little decision or action could be different, how can you ever be certain?"
