[ The robot is unfazed by his puzzlement, content to vacuum up the pin on the floor. Along with. Anything else that happens to be down there. ]

Um, actually, I believe they are. All of our friends? Or the ship's.

Although I am your new maintenance officer, so perhaps saying they are my friends in accurate.

Oh...

[...he drops whatever was in his hands onto the bed, sticking both pins into the covers (totally not where those go; he'll regret this later). but he's got to stoop down and pick up the cleaning robot! he holds it up, looks at it's underside, getting this stupid little smile on his face.]

Well, would ya' look at that! Looks like a new friend to me...

[he finally looks back up at Penny, still holding the poor little cleaning bot as it attempts, unsuccessfully, to scoot through open air.]

And you too! Nice to meet you, Penny. I didn't realize we'd gotten anyone new.

[ Penny smiles at that. Referring to the robots as friends, anyway. Seeing robots as friends is a good impression for her. ]

Yes, I have just arrived. [ She brushes a bit of confetti out of her hair as she says this. A second cleaning robot vacuums it up as it hits the floor. ] I was very pleased to find myself at my newly assigned ship! The wait on the Marsiva seemed very long.

Oh yeah? [he watches the other cleaning robot going about it's confetti-vacuuming... while still holding its friend up in the air.] I'm glad to hear that, then. Welcome to the Bloodsport. I promise it's not as dangerous as it sounds...

[once it starts beeping awkwardly at him, he finally lets the poor droid go... setting it back on the ground so that it can scoot away. he gets up and walks over himself, holding out his hand for a handshake!]

I'm Robin, like the bird. Captain and one of two engineers.

Oh, an engineer? I'm glad to hear we have one! Or... two. [ That is very good. Somebody here can help fix Penny if she breaks.

She will shake the offered hand, probably a little too forcefully and a little too enthusiastically. ]

Ah... [he... takes this handshake pretty well, though he's starting to think this person is... definitely maybe not the best at being a normal person. once he has his hand back, he shakes his fingers out a little...] Be careful, you're gonna hurt someone's hand if you shake too hard.
