[ Hera is seated at a small cafe on the station today, taking a break from the odd jobs she's been doing to earn money. She's got a cup of something hot at her elbow, and she's her usual composed self. ]

So, to those who don't know me, hi. I'm Hera. [ She gives a little wave. ] You might have seen me around, since I've been on the fleet for a couple of months now. For those who haven't, I just thought I should point a couple of things out, since they've been coming up fairly often when I talk to people.

[ She points at her face. ]

I'm green. This might seem self-evident, but I've actually had a surprising number of people point this out to me, as if I hadn't noticed. So I'm telling you now, I've noticed. I'm green. It's genetics, and skin pigment, and I'm aware. I've also noticed that I'm not human - I'm Twi'lek, actually. And - [ Here she points at the top of her head. ] these are called lekku, but you can call them head-tails if you prefer.

Also, in my culture, it's - rude to stare. I know a lot of you aren't familiar with species other than your own, but it can get a little uncomfortable feeling like you're under a microscope.

Well we can't have that. [A beat.] I hope the others haven't been giving you too hard of a time.

Nothing I can't handle. Mostly excitable curiosity, and harmless pick-up lines, if I'm being honest.

[ Nothing that would qualify as hostility, anyway. ]

Whoa whoa, pick up lines?

[Harmless or not, he can't say he's crazy at the idea other people are flirting with her.]

Harmless ones. It's not like anyone is being pushy about it.

[ Or like you have to protect her virtue or anything, sheesh. ]

Is that right... find anyone you like?

[Not that he needs to know or anything. He's just curious. Really.]

What kind of a question is that?

[ An absurd one, judging by the tone of her voice. She's sort of torn between defensive - what business is it of yours?, or defensive and teasing, what if I have? or just the simple truth - no. ]

[Coyly.] No particular reason. Just curious to see what catches your interest.

You haven't figured that out by now?

[ How long have you known her, Kanan? ]

Well after Lando, it's kind of hard to tell.

Lando? We wouldn't have had to deal with him at all if you hadn't lost my droid to him!

[ Is he seriously still going on about that? ]

Alright, alright. My mistake for bringing that up. [This is what he gets for trying to go for some playful teasing.] Anyway, that was Zeb who lost him. Not me.

[He just... agreed to it. Which was totally different.]

[ It's all fun and games until someone brings up Lando Calrissian. What a jerk. ]

But you could've put a stop to it.

[ She shakes her head. Whatever, Kanan, whatever! ]

Why, what about you? Don't tell me you haven't attracted any attention. Just because you're not green.

... you know, I don't think I've had any luck lately. Not that I've been trying, but you'd expect a few heads turned now and then. Think maybe I'm losing it?

Okay, well, that implies a couple of things: that you had something to lose in the first place, and that I would know what it is. Am I supposed to know what human women find charming?
