[ Hera is seated at a small cafe on the station today, taking a break from the odd jobs she's been doing to earn money. She's got a cup of something hot at her elbow, and she's her usual composed self. ]

So, to those who don't know me, hi. I'm Hera. [ She gives a little wave. ] You might have seen me around, since I've been on the fleet for a couple of months now. For those who haven't, I just thought I should point a couple of things out, since they've been coming up fairly often when I talk to people.

[ She points at her face. ]

I'm green. This might seem self-evident, but I've actually had a surprising number of people point this out to me, as if I hadn't noticed. So I'm telling you now, I've noticed. I'm green. It's genetics, and skin pigment, and I'm aware. I've also noticed that I'm not human - I'm Twi'lek, actually. And - [ Here she points at the top of her head. ] these are called lekku, but you can call them head-tails if you prefer.

Also, in my culture, it's - rude to stare. I know a lot of you aren't familiar with species other than your own, but it can get a little uncomfortable feeling like you're under a microscope.

[Okay, NOW she sounds and looks unmistakably disappointed.]

[firstrebel]

No, I just mean - okay, look, in space, there really isn't any such thing as up or down, right? [ Hopefully she's managed to get that point across, if nothing else through experience. ]

[onlyburnhotter]

[Yang scratches her head, definitely not really following her on this one.]

Uh, okay?

[firstrebel]

In space, you're never upside-down - because there's no rightside-up. There's no gravity, so you never have that experience. So while you can maneuver however you want in space, it's not going to actually give you that feeling of being upside-down.

[onlyburnhotter]

[Yang scratches her head, trying to keep up.]

But wait, I'm standing on the ground right now. I know up is the ceiling. If I were to hang off my bunk, I'd feel like I was upside down. So... I'm not sure I get it?

[You'll have to forgive her Hera. On Remnant, space travel is still purely in the hypothetical/test period, and Yang has yet to completely experience zero-G.]

That's because you're in artificial gravity. As long as there's gravity, there's up and down.

So does that mean that as long as there's artificial gravity... there's loop de loops?

[Obsessive, isn't she?]

[firstrebel]

In atmo, yes. [ Basically - you gotta at least wait until we're stationed at a planet again. ]

[onlyburnhotter]

So... I can still learn how to do them?

[She gives Hera that same expectant look that one would get from a child, asking for a candy bar at the grocery check-out.]

[firstrebel]

[ She isn't going to drop this, is she? ]

Maybe. Eventually.

[onlyburnhotter]

[So you're telling her there's a chance... Yang visibly brightens up, growing excited now.]

Yay! Now that's a goal worth working towards! Can we do more lessons? Right now?!

[firstrebel]

Maybe tomorrow.

[onlyburnhotter]

[Yang nods in understanding; though, admittedly, feeling a little put out.]

Fair enough. I'll see you tomorrow then Hera!

[ She chuckles a little. ]

Sure, I'll see you then.
