[Well, it's been two days.  Pretty sure she can rule out roofies by this point, and other potential illnesses given nothing changes.  Pulse is still fine, breathing's regular, all that jazz.  That leaves one likely possibility she can think of, given they've already proven Fleet passengers can be turned on and off at will.

Which irritates her.  But who knows.  Maybe the space orgy was just too much for their delicate viewers.  HAH.]

Hey, so question.  I know the augments are known to malfunction sometimes.  What kind of malfunctions are we talking about?  Have they ever... dropped anyone into a coma without warning?

...is there any way of countering it, if so?

Did you end up teaching your friend how to make pinwheels?

She liked them. And there's someone else, Sorey, he bubbles with love and compassion, it's like sunlight on grass on spring days and I made one for him for his shrine.

[Speaking about Sorey, a soft pink tone flushes his cheeks. Someone might have a crush.]

He sounds like a good man. He has a shrine? Religious?

[Or is he a spirit of some kind? Really by this point she won't be surprised by anything.]

He prays to... something. Spirit like. Not spirit how I know it. Gives offerings. The pinwheel was for wind. His friend, Mikleo, is a Seraph, which is like a spirit, but it's not. Sometimes people don't see them, though! People used to not see me.

Well, I guess if any kind of spirit would like a pinwheel, it'd be a wind one. What ship is he on?

Um... I don't know. Maybe I did know and I forgot. I don't know if Sorey and Mikleo are on the same ship either...

Oh, well. You can introduce us some day, or point him out. If you're okay with that, anyway. I think I'd like to meet a Seraph.

[Cole isn't sure why she'd rather meet Mikleo than Sorey. But, if that's what she wants.]

[Both, actually, though she was bad at putting that across. It's just if Mikleo is the one she might not be able to see, then...]

I take it they're both pretty new?

Yes. I think so. Yes.

[He nods finally.]

They arrived nearly at the same time.

And they're both from the same place. That's pretty lucky, to turn up with good company. [Or unlucky. Suppose it depends on your point of view.]

They're friends. Brothers. Best friends. All. It's beautiful. I feel warm with it.

They sound like good people for you to be around. [What with being an empath and all.]

It's nice but... they don't need my help. I should be with people who need me but sometimes...

[He looks almost guilty for a moment.]

Sometimes I'm selfish and go stay with people who don't need me.

That's not selfish. I hang out with people who make me feel good all the time. That's friendship. And I'll also go where I'm needed.

You have to strike a balance in there.

It feels selfish. But... maybe being a tiny bit selfish isn't bad. It's... people.

Well, I guess doing things that make yourself feel good can be called selfish in a way. But it's an understandable and necessary kind of selfish.

Is it? I'm still not very good at being a person, I don't know things that people seem to just know.
