[sara awakens with a gasp, shooting not just upright but to her feet and reaching for -- coming up empty-handed. she frowns, dropping her hand, and pivots on her heel to take a good look at her surroundings. this is...different. once she's convinced there's no immediate threat, she searches her bunk for what she knows is missing, and eventually notices the open feed on her communicator. there's a brief moment where she eyes it sharply, then clicks it off.

we were trained by the league; no prison can hold us. it's what she wants to say, but when she turns the feed back on ten minutes later, she seems more relaxed; some people might recognize the tune she briefly hums.]

So, [she draws out the word: sooooo] what's a girl got to do around here to find a little company?

Probably, but not one they let me in on. [She smiles at the other woman's suggestion.] Could be. Poor things.

Kitty Pryde. My name. Not just asserting pride for cats or anything.

[kitty gets herself an honest-to-goodness grin for that quip.]

Nothing wrong with that if you were. Just saying. Cats can be pretty cute.

In that case, cat pride too. Though I haven't seen any pets around the space ships. [Not that this is surprising, but they did have a pet store in the prison, so you never know, right?]

As a matter of fact, I did. It's Sara: Sara Lance. Not as catchy as yours.

It's no rallying cry for the felines, but it's not half bad. Where are you from?

[revivo]

[she hesitates. but she made the choice to introduce herself as sara lance, not ta-er al-safar (at least for now).]

Starling City. Ever heard of it?

[passingthrough]

Don't think so. Is it on Earth? America? [Guessing from the accent, but you never really know in these places.]

[revivo]

Got it in one. What about you? Anywhere I'd recognize?

[passingthrough]

Chicago? Also Earth. Also America.

[revivo]

Chicago I've heard of. I haven't seen much of it, but I'd like to see it again.

[maybe while not on a job this time.]

You should. It was a good place. [Just going to past tense that there. She won't do the doom and gloom thing of suggesting she may never get back to her world. Kitty likes to think there's hope on that front even if she's never seen it play out.]

Anything's possible, right? I never thought I'd ever see space anywhere outside of a TV.

Well, you're on TV, so that still kind of works out.

Not the way I envisioned ever making television.

If you had you might have had a hit on your hands. You know, if you're good with widespread kidnapping.

What's not to like about it?

Now that you mention it I can't think of a thing. Way more efficient than getting permission.

Well sure, if you're going to be uprooting people against their will you at least want to be speedy about it. Have time to get back to the important things like laundry and catching up on your shows.

Being speedy isn't my strong point. Maybe I should leave it to someone else.

[If Kitty knew the reference she'd be very amused. Well, she'd laugh politely because she already enjoys you.]

Probably for the best. There's usually a speedster around somewhere to put everyone else to shame. [Not that she's seen any here, but the prison had no shortage of them showing up.]
