[sara awakens with a gasp, shooting not just upright but to her feet and reaching for -- coming up empty-handed. she frowns, dropping her hand, and pivots on her heel to take a good look at her surroundings. this is...different. once she's convinced there's no immediate threat, she searches her bunk for what she knows is missing, and eventually notices the open feed on her communicator. there's a brief moment where she eyes it sharply, then clicks it off.

we were trained by the league; no prison can hold us. it's what she wants to say, but when she turns the feed back on ten minutes later, she seems more relaxed; some people might recognize the tune she briefly hums.]

So, [she draws out the word: sooooo] what's a girl got to do around here to find a little company?

[there are a lot of things she could wonder or ask about this admission, like how seeing others' memories are possible or how often it happens; how nyssa al ghul (because who else?) has a great many memories of her and she's not ready to get into any of them in detail with a stranger.

but the only thing she questions is the most important.]

Was.

I'm sorry. She isn't here any longer. [ and sansa has yet to recover from the loss. ]

[it goes against everything in sara to express any of her budding anger or frustration or grief (shouldn't it be? was) out on this girl, so her tone stays flat but not loud.]

What happened?

She left. Or was made to leave. All of a sudden, with no word to the contrary. [ ... ] Everyone tells me she went home.

[the first thing she does is breathe out -- a strangled gasp, like she'd been drowning. she left. nyssa was here, and she's gone, and she's still alive. sara's no optimist, but if anyone could find their way out of anywhere it's nyssa.]

How do they -- [know? she believes in nyssa, but she second-guesses already; that almost seems too good to be true.] What did you see?

[the memory, she means. the memory of nyssa's with her in it.]

[ it takes her a moment to catch up to the question -- to understand, fully, what she's being asked.

her voice drops to a confidential whisper: ] I saw you from the shore. Ebbing, there -- but not yet washed up. And I saw you at rest in the place she calls home. [ nanda parbat. ] She saved you.

[ebbing but not yet washed up -- drowning after she was swept off the amazo, sure this time that she was actually going to die. that oliver was dead, because how could he possibly kill slade? it was nyssa that had found her and brought her back to life.]

It's only thanks to her that I'm alive now. [she pauses; if sansa saw any part of nanda parbat --] What else?

Anything else I might have seen -- only that much included you. I promise.

Well.

[sansa claims to have known nyssa, and the memory she mentions -- despite its impossibility -- lines up with her telling the truth.]

Any friend of Nyssa's is a friend of mine.

[ she fidgets with a golden bracelet. thoughtful. ]

Forgive me if this is too forward, Sara. But when the Atroma have seen fit to assign you a ship, would you visit? I would like very much to host you upon the Blue Fish for...for tea, mayhaps.

[ and baklava if she can find some. ]

[there are a lot of things sara could consider. should consider. but more than anything, it's the link to nyssa that she can't pass up.]

I'd like that. The Blue Fish, right? I'll be there.
