[the young woman in the video awakes with a start, sitting up hurriedly and looking around... before giving a sharp noise of frustration. she doesn't stay in the same area long, instead wandering the halls of the marsiva with a frown. to nobody in particular:]

Honestly, I'm becoming quite tired of this kind of thing. It's terribly rude to do this to a person once, let alone twice, you realize?

[a while later, a video broadcast appears.]

If one departs from this place and then unfortunately reappears, are they typically brought to the same ship they inhabited the previous time?

I'm glad you did. That is, I certainly would have contacted you soon if you hadn't, but... It's good to see you again, even given the circumstances.

You as well, Adelina. Though it's just about the last place I'd expect it to happen.

Space is certainly far from a place I ever thought I would travel. It isn't awful here, though, even if it's certainly frustrating.

I'm a little tired of being spirited off to other places, myself. [God knows this is his third time.]

I thought you were already here, though. What are you doing on the Marsiva?

I was here, but then I returned home for a time. It seems I've arrived back, though. It's strange that I couldn't just return to my ship, though.

Oh, that reminds me! Have you been assigned yet?

So people can be sent away.

Ah, yes. The Heron. Just today, actually.

Yes, they can. I've been told it's our captors doing.

I see. How do you find it so far?

Cramped.

[He doesn't have much else to say. He still needs to properly meet the rest of the crew.]

But it's not too bad.

Oh, that's right. Have you at least been able to find a place to sleep?

There's a room for me, if that's what you mean. Though I did hear there was some overcrowding issue.

[It was mainly the size of the ship that he was referring to. Knowing that he can't simply go for a walk outside of it makes it comparatively more restrictive.]

I see. Is your ship rather small, then? The Bishop never seemed cramped to me.

Maybe I'm just too particular.

[He's done precious little complaining, so far. He can complain about this.]

You've never seemed that way to me. But... May I ask how long it's been since you were in Kyriakos?

It's been about a month. I left not too long after you did.

...[He trails off there, like he'd been about to say something else. But he thought better of it. This isn't the time to start vocalizing all the gnawing worries and grievances under his skin.]

Was there something else...?

[He shakes his head.]

No. Certainly not anything I'll bother saying into a phone ... communicator. [Whatever this thing is.] What about yourself? Did you get to stay home for long?

Hopefully we'll be able to meet face to face soon. And, yes, it's been over a year. Closer to two, I think.

I'd like that. It's a shame it isn't so easy as walking between dorms.

[He looks a bit startled at that, then scrutinises Adelina more closely. She didn't seem much changed... but then again, she wasn't at the age where a year would make much difference.]

Well... that's something, at least.

I'll make contact with you when I'm assigned to a ship once more, then.

[he might be able to see some change, but she's still a teenager in the same general age range.]

Yes. It's been rather eventful. I'm only sorry that you didn't have the opportunity to spend the same amount of time in your home before you were brought somewhere else once more.

[He nods, a bit absently. It bothers him more than he'll show or admit. Even worse is wondering what those left behind might think has happened.]

In a kinder universe, we wouldn't have been brought anywhere at all.

I'm not certain that's entirely true. There are people I'm glad to have been able to meet.

I can't say I agree.

[He's too fresh to have put down any roots yet. And he's ambivalent about doing so. Present company excluded.]

I hope that changes soon, then. I imagine it will make this place more tolerable.
