[He himself sets himself up far enough away from the trees as so not to get shot, and then takes out his pencil and pad.]

[ nods and draws up. she actually draws a few times, trying to get a feel for the weight and tension and figure out how she should compensate for the flaws in construction ]

It feels a little heavy on the outside, and I'd probably like a little more elasticity, if you can manage it.

[He watches her carefully, his gaze thoughtful as he looks between her and the shot.]

All right ... we can do something to increase the elasticity.

[ draws up again, doing her best to adjust for the discrepancies and fires. she's wide—not dangerously so, but it embeds in another tree ]

There's a lot of sideways movement. It feels like it wants to get away from me.

[He makes a face at that, before he mutters to himself.]

Need to adjust the balance, and the weight. It's too light.

[ she goes through process a few more times and gives him additional notes, all while not seriously injuring anyone ]

[Tyrion makes thoughtful noises through all of it, before he looks up at her thoughtfully.]

All right, so clearly this bow is a prototype. You can keep it if you want but I should be able to make something new in a few days.

Do you know how to shoot a gun?

Could you teach someone who wants to learn? I am helpless with a bow and arrow.

To shoot a gun? Yeah, maybe. Probably, I mean. Sure.

[He lifts an eyebrow at her.]

...You're carrying this around and you don't know how to use it?

Oh yes. Pointing it at people seems to be effective, and since I built it I have just kept the safety switch device active at all times. But no, I do not know how to shoot it.

Okay. We can work on that. Watch for a few shots, then we'll probably go through it in a dry run so you can't, I don't know, accidentally kill anyone. And then try it with live ammunition?

[ waiting for his confirmation before showing off her skills. that poor tree ]

[ takes some practice shots just to be sure, though the augment fills in any gaps she might have had. she'll proceed through the steps she laid out, showing him in a dry run how it functions before letting him shoot live rounds ]

[Tyrion watched with sharp eyes, following every step she had gone through, before going to try and copy it.]

Good. You're lucky because a lot of these doesn't have much recoil, so you don't have to worry about kickback.

Considering that kickback would quite literally send me to the floor ... yes that is quite good.
