[Hello Fleet, it's been a while since you all have seen this particular redhead's face on the network. Months, really, since she's made a public broadcast like this. She appears to be in a good mood, offering the fleet a smile, and even if her address is rather formal, her tone is warm and welcoming. Behind her is the greenhouse of the Iskaulit, with lots of tropical-looking plants and even what looks like fruit! Weird fruit! But fruit nonetheless.]

Good afternoon! For those of you who don't know me, I'm Dr. Beverly Crusher of the SS Blue Fish. I, along with Ino Yamanaka on the Three Twins, run the garden here on the Iskaulit. I've spoken with many of you who have expressed an interest in learning how to garden. In light of this, I've decided to offer classes of a sort... nothing too formal, just a weekly meeting where I can teach people the basics of taking care of plants in the environment of a starship. Though of course, if people want something more extensive, I'm more than happy to accommodate for that! But it seems best to start simple, see what people are most interested in. So, if this is something you think you'd like to be a part of or if you have any questions, you can either respond here or I'll be on the Iskaulit the rest of the afternoon should you prefer to talk in person.

[ Nova's face shows up. She's kind of unsure about committing to something like this, but she misses nature and her sister so maybe this is how she can reconnect ]

[She's moving a potted fern from one shelf to another to clear some space in preparation for any potential students and as she passes him, she stops to give him a quick kiss on the cheek in greeting.]

What brings you here? Did you want to take the class?

[He accepts the kiss gratefully. Maybe he's starting to get used to this.]

I thought I might offer my assistance. Would that be welcome?

Gardening. She can go back to gardening, and it'll give her something to do.]

I would certainly like to try.

Finally offering, huh? [Chloe grins.]

Wonderful! Are you interested in setting up a garden of your own or would you like to use the space here? Either is perfectly fine, I only want to get an idea of what people are looking for, so I know how to approach the lessons.

[Oh! A new person! Good. The more, the merrier.]

Then I'd be happy to have you! Have you done any gardening before, Ms...?

[Beverly laughs.]

I figured it was about time. I love to teach, but I admit it's a bit of a strain having to try to teach several individual classes when we could all be together for one.

[She moves to set the pot down on a shelf a few feet behind Daneel, then brushes the dirt off her hands with a hand towel hanging out of her hip pocket.]

Though I've more or less got everything set up for the class already. Or at least, as much as I can set up until I know who all is interested and what they want to pursue.

[She looks about the room, to see if there is anything else he could do.]

Do you know how to prune?

[ oh hey, something they're actually interested in. ]

Would people who already know about gardening be allowed to attend?

[Ororo's a bit disoriented from her recent move into her first ship in the fleet but this absolutely grabs her attention and when she speaks up, she can't quite contain the uncharacteristic enthusiasm in her voice.]

- Oh! Are those dragonfruit behind you? They look absolutely beautiful.

[(- I picked the weirdest looking tropical fruit I'm familiar with, I hope that's okay!)]

Probably space here? I don't really plan on going home and I don't know what other places will be like...

[Ah. Technically, he only ever oversaw other estate robots who did know how to prune, who were expert at it.]

Perhaps not. I understand the purpose, though not how one is meant to know which parts to prune.

So the garden is finished then? I remember you and Ino were working on it some time ago.

[She had helped out a little at the time, but naturally got distracted by other events.]

Oh hello Chara! I haven't seen you in a while!

[That would be because they're a different Chara. Whoops. Someone hasn't been keeping very good track of the crew lists. Fortunately, Beverly is well acquainted with the concept of parallel universes, so it shouldn't be too hard to explain.]

And of course you'd be allowed. In fact, the gardens are communal, so as long as you're willing to contribute to upkeep, you're free to use the facilities we have, if you'd like. If I had known you were interested, I would have mentioned it to you earlier.

[Beverly looks over her shoulder at the spiky fruit for a moment before turning back to Ororo with a smile.]

Not quite. Almost none of are plants are what you might be familiar with on Earth, though I do believe that these are of a similar genus to dragonfruit, but they're much more intense in flavor and they actually take on a bluish tinge when ripe.

Oh, sorry for being unclear! I simply was wondering if you were interested in making a garden on your own ship or if you were just wanting to use the space on the Iskaulit.

Ah, you don't know how to garden already then, do you?

[Said with a knowing smile.]

Yes, it's coming along quite nicely! Would you like to come see?

About plants or about medicine?

Medicine. Our ship's got no med bay and I need some supplies.
