[Alright guys! What are you up to this month? Hopefully having fun. And ignoring whatever disaster is going on in the kitchen because they've gotta make due somehow.]

[Nagisa is one of the said disasters in the kitchen, because she's never worked with any of these ingredients before.

So it's as messy as it's probably gonna get.

What is it that you are attempting to make?

[He rolls up his sleeves in preparation.]

[He's just chillin' in the doorway, beholding the chaos unfolding before him.]

What...what are you trying to make.

[AND SO either once they're packed back aboard their little tin ship post-Starlight shenanigans (whenever those may end) or on the very rare occasions anyone can find him before then (he is the worst captain; good thing his rank doesn't actually matter), Davesprite hangs out on the bridge, at one of the various stations. Not necessarily his own, either; he's just seated in whichever chair was most conveniently located at the time.

He's fucking around with an instant camera of some sort, whether flipping through pictures or snapping a photo of whoever walks into the room. In the case of the latter, he'll pull the photo out of the camera's mouth and examine it.

Other than that, he's pretty quiet, even if he probably has his feet propped dangerously close to the controls of the nearest console.]

[ the odd smells and the noise coming from the kitchen makes him worried. his room is close enough, so he comes padding in on socked feet, peering around the corner. he tries to breathe through his mouth, just in case.

he blinks a few times when he sees her. ]

Well that looks like it's working out for you.

I... have no idea. I was going to try things until something good came out!

[look davesprite you wanted her to try]

[She puffs her cheeks out a bit in frustration before putting what she's doing down.]

This is harder than I thought it'd be.

[He's concerned.]

Are you sure that's food.

[There's a glob of gel on another glob of gel on the counter. He prods their fused Zord form.]

Is this here for a reason. [He's not gonna judge if it is.]

It... looked nice?

[She stares at it, seriously, for a short time.]

I'm sorry, I tried.

[He puts up both hands.]

Whoa, no, you're good. This is just. Uh. Unexpected.

[He sniffs a little at the lump. Davesprite, why...]

Were you trying to make something in particular or was this a trial by reckless fire kind of day.

Trial by reckless fire sounds about right...

I was hoping that I'd make something that would actually taste good.

Yeah, that's way harder than it sounds and I have absolutely shit standards for food, if we're real.

[Nudging the blob back along the counter, ey.]

Though while we're being real, the real hooligan in the kitchen is the gelatinous constitution of this garbage. Did you try the vegetable mix. Even I know vegetables don't go down like that.

[ he doesn't exactly know what she's trying to make or do, but maybe he could help clean some of this up. ]

This stuff can be pretty gross until you get used to it.

[That could be either miraculous or disastrous.]

I've been attempting some experiments along these lines, myself, though I'm hindered by not having a sense of taste. Perhaps you might describe something you wish to eat and we could attempt to recreate it?

[It's leaning towards disastrous right now, honestly.]

Hmm... I could, but most of it would be Japanese. I'm not sure if we could recreate a bowl of ramen that easily, could we? ... Unless we somehow stumble on the flavor...

What kinds of experiments have you tried so far? Has anyone tried them? I could be your tastetester!

[She nudges the blob, too, watching it blob along a little.]

I put some of it in, but... I guess we can say that combination isn't going to work at least.

A little help might be nice.

I'm used to working with more than... whatever we have here.

I've mostly attempted to recreate dishes Lady Gladia or Dr. Fastolfe enjoyed, using the flavours and textures available. Those who have tried them do enjoy most of them, at least. I would be glad for the tasting assistance, certainly.

[He looks thoughtfully at the equipment.]

Explain ramen to me. Perhaps we can approximate it for you.

[He watches the lump jiggle.]

I can at least help clean up. I can't cook anything.

[ and so he does start tackling one of the messes. ] Some of that stuff mixes well and some it doesn't. The whole artificial food thing -- don' think it's supposed to be any good.

[ Isaac looks tired, his hair a mess of curls and his eyes half-lidded. he's just woken up from a nap, and is merely passing through when the camera flashes in his face. he doesn't immediately see Davesprite in his sleep-drunk state, but he knows immediately who it is. ]

How many pictures are you going to take of my face? That has to be a dozen, with that stupid camera.

[ it's not even a real complaint, just a grumbling. ] I'll throw you out of an airlock. Or glue your wings together or something. I don't know. Ugh.

[In response, Davesprite snaps another photo, intentionally aiming the flash right for Isaac's face.

He eyes the picture as the camera spits it out in real time, before holding it up for Isaac to see.]

Flattering. Both of them. Looks like you got into a fight with a pillow and lost.
