[Meditating in her room, Ahsoka senses Anakin's presence in no time at all and opens her eyes, frowning. Is there some kind of problem, she wonders? She and Anakin weren't due to meet today. She double checks her commlink to see if there are any messages left there that she's missed, but nothing. Huh. She stands, stretching her muscles briefly before wandering down to the cargo bay.

Ahsoka's made some of her own small adjustments to the Starstruck's three short-range shuttles, of course, so when she sees Anakin guts-deep in one of them, she just raises one eyebrow as she pads over. When she talks, it's equal parts exasperated and fond.]

Run out of things to tinker with on the Paisley already, Master?

[ Anakin's arm is wrapped around too many wires to dislodge himself. So when Ahsoka finally arrives, as expected, he doesn't bother with extracting himself for a greeting. He sticks his other hand out and gives a half hearted acknowledgement.

He does nearly bang his head hearing her call him Master again. Familiar as it is, he feels a tad awkward hearing it. ]

There's nothing on Paisley I haven't touched. [ That... aren't broken, torn out, completely gutted. ] If that's what you mean.

Don't worry, this box is going to fly when I'm done with it. [ His laugh echos in the space his head is stuck in. ] Hey, nice touch on the fuel injector, Snips.

It already flies.

[She just shakes her head, smiling to herself.]

Thanks. Want me to hand you anything from up here?

[ He wave and grunts. ] No, I'm fine. But you could use a little clean up in here.

You know. [ He pops his head out. ] I'm glad all the shuttles are just as ugly. Who puts a [ INSERT JARGON ] next to a [ INSERT MORE JARGON ]?

[Clean up, huh. Just to be pert, she chucks him a fresh oil rag to wipe off with.]

There you go.

[She sits down on the floor beside him so she doesn't have to crane her neck down so much.]

Beats me. Not like I designed them. [She hesitates then, unsure, but then forges ahead anyway. Ahsoka-style.] ... Is there something on your mind?

[ He gives her an exasperated look and lets the oil rag rest on his shoulder for a moment while he gives her this look. ]

I'm always cleaning up after your messes, aren't I.

[ He takes up the rag and gets working. It's a good way to stall while he thinks about whether he wants to answer her question or not. ]

... Not really. Something up?

My messes? Like you're one to talk, Mister Passes Out In The Cockpit of His Fighter While It's Still Flying.

[She says it with good humour though, grinning.]

I'm okay. I just know you don't usually get antsy like this unless something's bothering you.

I'm antsy because we're not going anywhere. And it's a good thing I did because it looks like a womp rat's nest in here.

[ Yes. He is completely ignoring her teasing. ]

Besides, I thought I'd spend some time here. With you. [ He makes a face when he says that. Too much? Probably ] Hand me that thing that looks like a hydrospanner, will you?

[She hands it to him absently, back leaning against the shuttle as she looks out at the cargo hold surrounding them. Thoughtful.

Well, if Anakin doesn't want to talk about what's on his mind, that's fine. He'll either tell her when he's ready or he won't.]

Mm. I get it. It's been a while since we've been in one place for so long, huh?

Speaking of which... something weird occurred to me the other day. Do you think we're aging, while we're here?

I haven't really notice, but I would think so.

[ Anakin pops out for a second and gives her a look. ]

Why?

Well, it's just-- Hera Syndulla said that in the future, I'm really tall. Like-- same height as you, tall.

Which means... I still have a lot of growing left to do. And only a few years in which to do it in. But we've been here six whole months and... I haven't grown an inch.

[Somewhat sheepishly:] I measured.

[ He's strangely quiet for a moment. Most of him is out of sight and he leans further into the shuttles' guts, bracing his weight against it. The rest of his torso is visibly shaking.

[ He coughs and laughs a bit more before popping out again. ]

Well, don't grow up too fast, Snips. I need a good arm rest.

What! Ugh. You're impossible.

[She's not actually mad, and it shows in the Force, just comically exasperated.]

You know I should be seventeen by now. I just haven't been able to work out when my birthday would've passed, since the calendar here is different and the days keep a different time. But I'm not a kid anymore!

[ He's actually too amused to keep that one in. He does manage to look mildly exasperated with her way too hilarious rant. ]

What do you want me to do about it, huh? Do you want me to tell everyone on the Fleet that it's been past time you are seventeen! And -- and tell them to acknowledge you as an adult regardless of your height?

If you haven't noticed, I've been a bit preoccupied. Why don't you tell me why it bothers you instead?

It just-- it reminds me of... Mortis. You know. Several days passed. But when we left, it was like... boom. No time at all. We hadn't been gone for more than a few seconds.

I wouldn't go around thinking pretending any of this has any normal in it. I mean, have you had the food.
