[He flicks his fingers and the pen arrows forward, hitting the floor next to James's foot and embedding itself there. You know. In a good place for him to pluck back out of the dent it's made.]

If he hasn't said anything, I should hardly be telling tales behind his back.

[Ah, so once again he is the secret teacher. Good to know. He probably shouldn't be surprised. He'd been Billy's secret for years, in Luceti, and they'd been much closer than he and Remus.]

There are more effective ways of training than what you are doing right now.

[ when the pen rockets forward, james looks suitably unimpressed, because 1) way to dent hte floor and 2) way to ruin a good pen. and he sighs, tilting back in his chair ]

i imagine you're going to tell me them, and point out that you know the way, and I don't, yeah?

[One shoulder moves in a shrug.]

I rather enjoy teaching, believe it or no. Magics are my blood and marrow and freedom. And what I value most in students is curiosity and enthusiasm. [Because it is such an important, vulnerable thing, sharing something beloved.]

Thus, I see no point in wasting my breath on either of those things.

[Disappointing, but he's used to mortals being very disappointing.]
