[Ever since Christmas, there's been a tiny white shadow aboard the SS Blue Fish, following Bran Stark around wherever he goes. But today, something is different. All throughout the station, Beca can be seen roaming alone, with a bit more curious energy than the shy creature normally exhibits. Instead of riding around on Bran's lap, she's out exploring the station with puppy-like vigor, sniffing out dropped food and trailing after shoelaces. She'll immediately run up to greet anyone Bran knows, almost as though she has an exciting message for them, but strangers are just as interesting and delightful to her.

You may notice, however, that she seems just a tad too intelligent for a fox pup. It's almost as if she knows what you're saying to her - and was that a nod?

Feel free to encounter Beca anywhere on the Starlight throughout Tuesday and Wednesday. But meanwhile, on the Blue Fish...]

[Bran has been asleep for two days, curled up and breathing deeply beneath his fur blanket. Though he occasionally makes a small twitch, nothing can be done to wake him throughout Tuesday and Wednesday.

Finally, on Thursday morning, Bran stirs. It starts with a wiggle of the nose, and then a sleepy blink up at whomever has been keeping watch. Then - a small whine, not unlike a noise that his pet fox would make. He immediately flushes, realizing that he's back in his human body, and pulls the blanket up to his chin.]

How long was I...?

[No more secrets, then.]

[He gives a nervous swallow.]

Promise you won't tell my brothers?

[Oh it's rarely a good thing when a child says that. She hasn't met Jon and she's still getting to know Robb, so it's hard to know how to answer right away. Finally, she nods her head, just a little.]

If you promise me you won't do it again without talking to me or Allen first, okay?

[He doesn't give a committal answer - warging is his escape, and he can't readily tie it down with something like permissions. But he trusts Dr. Crusher, and he doesn't want any of the crew thinking he's sick.]

I was with Beca. Or, my mind was.

[Well, when she asked that of them, there's no way she could have predicted that this would be the answer. She definitely thought it was something health related. She can't hide her surprise at his explanation, but there's no judgment there either.]

A telepathic bond? I'm familiar with the concept but... I never knew it could be done with animals.

[He isn't sure what "telepathic" means, but it is is a bond, so he nods.]

It's called warging.

Warging. [She repeats, to make sure she's saying it right.]

So you share his mind while you are warging? See what he sees, go where he goes?

Yes. I can live in another's skin, for as long as I like.

[The appeal of this then becomes apparent to her - with Beca, Bran can walk, can wander and play and run. She sees too, why he doesn’t want his brothers to know. When people aren’t used to the idea of telepathic abilities, it can be frightening - and she knows all too well how such abilities can be abused. So she has to ask:]

But you only use it with Beca, right?

[He quickly makes up his mind to lie, because Beverly is too much like Catelyn, and she would only worry.]

Of course.

[Oh Bran, you have just majorly miscalculated. If she ever finds out that you lied about this, it will be a whole hell of a lot more than motherly worry that you'll be dealing with. For now though, she takes him at his word.]

Good.

[She studies him for a moment, wondering if she should tell him.]

I've had someone do something like that to me and it was really scary, so even though I know you don't mean to hurt anybody, just... Be careful, okay?

[Whoops?]

I will. I would never do that to anyone.

[Beverly gives him a small smile then lays her hand on his shoulder.]

Now, is there anything I can get you? Are you hungry?

[He nods.]

I ate a lot as Beca. Sometimes I forget it doesn't fill my own stomach.

[Two days without eating! That won’t do at all.]

Do you have a craving for anything in particular?

Is there ice cream?

[His eyes light up a little just saying it.]

[She laughs.]

Why, yes, in fact there is!

[A thought occurs to her.]

Have you ever had a milkshake?

No, I haven't!

[It sounds enthralling.]

Oh then you have been missing out!

[She claps her hands together, excited that she gets to introduce him to this.]

So the big question: chocolate or vanilla?

Chocolate!

Chocolate it is! I'll be back shortly!

[She returns not even fifteen minutes later with two chocolate milkshakes in hand. A big straw and spoon sits in each. She hands Bran one of them, then sits in the chair with hers.]

I hope you don't mind if I join you?

[He shakes his head, eyes wide as he takes the drink from her.]

What is it made from?

Just chocolate ice cream and milk, blended together! I added a little extra chocolate syrup for you too.

[The straw isn't completely new to him, but he's still unpracticed with the concept. There's a spoon, like one uses with ice cream, but it's presented as a beverage. Furrowing his brow just a bit, he tries to decide how best to approach it - and finally makes up his mind. He attempts the straw, making a slightly comical face as he works out the mechanics. The sudden rush of milkshake surprises him a bit.]

It's colder than I thought!

[Beverly can't help but chuckle at his expression.]

Careful! If you drink it too fast you'll get brain freeze.

[He suddenly looks horrified.]
