They're human in shape, but there's nothing human behind that.

[He had to learn how to put that mask on right. How the face moved, what was good and bad with movements. Other humans find that he tends to be too still, not always show emotions on his face.]

What about ripping their heads off?

That works☆ It's actually the only way to kill us once we're mature! You're good at this.

[bb_wolf]

I'm good at hunting and killing things. There's very little I haven't hunted for food.

Or fun. But that was mostly the Adversary's troops.

[pneumo]

Who's that? [ One more bite to go here, and then his meat's all gone♥ Absolutely delicious. ]

[Bigby thinks about how to describe it.]

We don't know who or what it is. It started invading different worlds of the Homelands, slaughtering people into submission. The soldiers were all... tainted. They tasted bad, like they were infected with something. However many you kill, there's always more. I hunted them for a couple of hundreds years, I suppose, until they forced me to retreat through the ways between, to the Mundane world.

If you fought, you were killed, or enslaved.

That was actually how I met Snow and her sister, Rose. I freed them.

[pneumo]

That sounds like something a good guy would do you know~

I didn't help people for them.

I freed slaves because it pissed off the Adversary. For every piece of prey he drove off with his tainted soldiers, I'd kill three of his troops. He wanted slaves, I wanted to hurt him, so I took those slaves away from him. I showed them the way the witch had fled, how to get to the Mundane world.

[He keeps picking at his food, cutting it up and eating it.]

I did something people called good. I didn't think in terms of good or bad. He was on my territory. In my lands. I was going to make him pay. And I did. His soldiers still fear to say my name, in case the Wolf comes to get them.

[pneumo]

[ Well put like that it certainly sounds a great deal less noble, yes. Sascha can't relate to or understand the want or drive to hold territory and protect it, although he's seen other vampires act in such a manner over their 'hunting grounds.' It's just not the same for him. ]

Did you beat him?

[bb_wolf]

No.

He still holds the Homelands. All of them, as far as I know. We'll make a push to retake them, one day. I don't know when.

[He smiles, mostly to himself. It's not a nice smile, too many teeth and his eyes are alive like his other self's.]

And they'll remember why they fear the Wolf.

[pneumo]

[ That glint certainly reminds Sascha why he does, even though at the moment he's just stretching his arms over the island and leaning on the counter top lazily for a moment until he folds his arms under his chin. ]

What're you gonna do once you take it all back though?

[bb_wolf]

I don't know.

[He can't go back to just being a wolf. None of them can really go back to how they were.]

We're going to need to rebuild. Ourselves, and how we interact and function. I don't think any of them have considered how hard it's going to be to transition back.

[pneumo]

What about the forest you talked about before? [ Would he try to return to it, or has Bigby given up on the home he'd once had there? ]

I don't know if the forest is even still standing.

[pneumo]

Oh... Well, even if it isn't you could always find another one right?

[bb_wolf]

I suppose so. On Earth, I lived in a forest in the Carpathian mountains. I made a deal with a local landholder. I only ate the occasional person and he enjoyed the notoriety of the people going missing.

[pneumo]

Whoa...they actually made a deal with you?? That's awesome! Humans usually don't do that with us.

[bb_wolf]

It was a different time. The Carpathians were a land of monsters and myths and they believed things worse than me were already stalking the forests.

For the price of a few strangers, dumb enough to be out in the forest at night, they believed I kept the forests clear of other monsters.

Maybe I did. I ate a lot of bandits.

[It was the fifteen hundreds. He thinks.]

[pneumo]

It's cool to think stuff like that really existed though... Where I'm from the only monsters are us. [ The vampires, he means. ] And humans hardly ever make deals with us. Probably 'cause most vampires wouldn't wanna, but still.

[bb_wolf]

[Bigby grunts, because he's still busy eating. Even his human form can eat a lot.

When he's finished, he leans back.]

I find the worst monsters are usually humans.

[pneumo]

Really?? I've always kinda liked them... [ But that may be because the very first people he met were human, and they had looked after him up to a point. ]

[bb_wolf]

I used to eat humans. It was my nature. I was a bastard, but didn't hunt animals for fun and I ate what I killed.

[Most of his problems had been caused by the fact he liked eating things.]

Bluebeard, the cockwiping piece of shit, he likes to hurt people. Women. He likes them helpless and he likes the carve them apart for his own jollies. Snow's aunt? Wanted her heart carved out of her chest for daring to be prettier than her.

[pneumo]

I'm not saying there aren't bad ones... But there's a lot of good ones too! I met a bunch before I figured out I was a vampire.

[bb_wolf]

Not saying there aren't good ones. Just that the worst monsters, tend to be humans.

[He's full and heavy and starting to feel sleepy.]

Come on, you can help me clean up and then I'm going to have a sleep.

[pneumo]

--Can I come too?? [ Sascha's not tired at all, but if there's a chance for him to huddle up to some giant fluffy wolf? He is going to take it. ]
