[Booze doesn't go off.

He passes her a glass and starts cracking eggs.]

Haven't seen you around ship recently.

No. Too many bar shifts. Avoiding someone. You know how it is.

[She doesn't see the point in being coy about it. She'd always intended to talk to Cas anyway once she thought she could be rational and reasonable about it, but she's missed her chance.

She pours him a glass and slides it over his side of the table.]

Yeah. I know how that is.

[In theory. He avoided Crane, but that was because he wanted to pull the man's giant head of his pencil neck.

He leans back for the glass without pausing in his cooking.]

...by default, yeah.

[Which will tell Bigby exactly who she was avoiding. It doesn't really matter. She sighs, leaning back in her chair with her drink.]

Not the way I'd intended to deal with it.

[He can put that together fairly easily.

But he doesn't pry. He wants to, but doesn't.]

Happens that way, sometimes. It's a relief to have avoided it and it doesn't feel like anything got solved.

[namisan]

[She huffs a small laugh.] Sounds about right.

Anyway, I guess you've got me underfoot again. I prefer my own bed anyway. [Thin and uniform though it may be.] Anything happen lately? Have we got new crew I should be aware of?

[bb_wolf]

Hm. Well.

[He turns over the meat and eggs, watching them sizzle.]

Sascha's transferred over here. The idiot vampire. He won't be a problem, as if he is, tell me. I'm working on teaching him how to pass as people.

Oh, Sascha! I've met him! Hes' a--

--he's a vampire!?

[bb_wolf]

[Bigby ignores the shock reaction entirely and starts serving up food onto two plates.]

Says he is. Never met a vampire who eats before, but I don't have a lot of experience with vampires full stop. Eat up.

[She gets a plate of food. He's surprisingly good at the basics of cooking.]

Ah... yeah. Thanks.

[It does look good, and she eats the first mouthfuls in a daze. A vampire? He doesn't exactly fit what she thinks a vampire should be like. Gullible and flaky is her impression. Huh.]

He eats? Does he still drink blood?

[bb_wolf]

[Bigby comes and sits down with his own plate and his whiskey, eating with a surprising amount of manners for anyone, let alone a giant wolf pretending to be people.]

He eats meat. Rarer the better. And yeah, he drinks blood, but so far he's been getting it from a volunteer who puts it in a thermos for him.

[namisan]

[She winces.] Just one volunteer? How often does he need to drink?

[bb_wolf]

No idea. I doubt he knows. I'm not sure he does need the blood when he can get the raw meat.

I'm not volunteering. I don't know what my blood would do to him.

[namisan]

No, that's fair.

[She eats a few more mouthfuls, deep in thought. Less panicky, but she's thinking about worrying things.] How's his self control?

[bb_wolf]

Both tremendous and terrible.

He has no impulse control, but he has a very strong instinct not to hurt people. No one's in danger from him, but I wouldn't leave an uncooked roast in the fridge.

[namisan]

Ah.

[That's actually kind of reassuring. If she can get used to a walking skeleton on her ship, she can get used to a puppy-eyed vampire.]

Reminds me of more than a few people. I'm used to dealing with low impulse control, anyway. I'm sure I'll manage.

[bb_wolf]

And if he's a problem, just yell at him to stop and he does. He's trained in that regard.

You got it. So did we have room for him or is he bunking in with you?

[bb_wolf]

I have no idea. He should have his own room by now, but given the crowding...

[ He shrugs. Having a room won't stop Sascha coming in with him. ]

And given he was coming into my room before he even lived on the fucking ship, I can probably safely say he'll only leave when I kick him out. And he'll go and find someone else to climb in with. He's, what's it called? Touch starved?

...he definitely sounds like someone I know. Well, you might warn him that if he tries climbing in with me it's at his own risk. I don't take well to surprise visitors.

Someone called Sasuke stuck a knife in him. He's fairly indestructible. I'm trying to train him into asking before doing, explaining about people's territories and feeling vulnerable.

Apparently one guy he did it to called him the sleep creeper.
