[As is common with new arrivals, there are a few very confused moments of waking up and scrambling around before the Fleet's newest arrival manages to find and switch off the nearest camera.

About half an hour later and significantly less panicked-looking, he switches it back on. Some quality time spent with his augment answered the pressing questions, like where am I and why aren't there any weapons here, and that he's not going to get an answer to are my friends okay without a little further input from him. So. If they're here, he reasons, they'll recognize him.]

Shouldn't there be more people here? Or do I get to be the only lucky winner this week?

The name's Finn. There are people on the other ships out there, right?

[Look it's very lonely on the Marsiva right now.]

[Rationing is normal for him anyway, though it would be nice not to have to for a while.]

Better than it could be, then. What kind of planets we seen so far?

[Part of it is simply Furiosa's background and the idea of hoard food when you find it because it might be a while before you see any again.]

Desert, Ice. We just recently left a large space station. It wasn't a planet, but it was a good place to stock up. There'll be smaller waystations along the way, as well, but there's no printed way of knowing where we'll end up next, or when.

[Finn's is much more there's adequate food, but it's all boring and you only have a few minutes to eat before break is over. Having regular access to different flavors of protein gel will be a nice change.]

Got it. So at least the sector's not deserted. Any idea what the station was a waypoint for? Trade route? Nexus?

[Furiosa shrugs.] Who knows why we find these oasis in an otherwise deserted road. I'm just glad they exist.

I'm Furiosa, Captain of the First Breath.

[He nods.] Good to meet you, Captain. I'm Security?

[Finn sounds unsure about this.]

There a problem with your augment?

[Just because she was totally comfortable with her station, didn't necessarily mean everyone else would be okay with theirs, but this is about the first time she's heard that tone in regards to someone's assigned station.]

How would I know if there was?

I think I'm Security. Just not sure what all the other options are, besides Pilot.

[Ah.]

Pilot, security, communications ... [She thinks for a moment, trying to remember who she's talked to and what she had represented in her own crew.] Personnel?

[She's not even sure what Personnel is supposed to do, but the others are pretty self-explanatory.] If you think you're Security, you're most likely Security.

[Oh, right. Comms makes sense. And Personnel must be management. Well, there's bound to be some of that.]

Then yeah, I'm that. Maybe I'll get to practice with the ship's weapons before we get tossed into a dogfight this time.

Sounds like whichever ship you end up in will be lucky to have you. [The weapons the Security officers received from Atroma were, in her opinion, lacking. Then again, a skilled survivalist could make a pretty deadly weapon out of pretty much anything.]

Yeah? [He puffs up a little, standing straighter.] Thanks.

[She can appreciate someone taking initiative, especially in a place like this. There may be little incentive to fight, but her instincts still have her wary, and it's nice to know there are a fair number of people who will likely prove competent should shit go down.]
