[As is common with new arrivals, there are a few very confused moments of waking up and scrambling around before the Fleet's newest arrival manages to find and switch off the nearest camera.

About half an hour later and significantly less panicked-looking, he switches it back on. Some quality time spent with his augment answered the pressing questions, like where am I and why aren't there any weapons here, and that he's not going to get an answer to are my friends okay without a little further input from him. So. If they're here, he reasons, they'll recognize him.]

Shouldn't there be more people here? Or do I get to be the only lucky winner this week?

The name's Finn. There are people on the other ships out there, right?

[Look it's very lonely on the Marsiva right now.]

Clearly the only option. That's some rough luck.

Maybe that's what the new drama is about. One poor subject, pining away for human contact.

Or alien contact. I'd take a Wookiee about now. A friendly Wookiee.

Actually it's about a bunch of hot messes stuck in space, but nice try.

Chewbacca is pretty fluffy.

[Oh hey, a familiar name.]

[a pause.]

Um. Yes. Not very well or anything, it's been a while. We met, like, once.

[probably better not to tell him chewbacca is a fictional character in her world.]

Hard to miss, isn't he? [Finn finds nothing unusual with this; Chewbacca traveled a lot and maybe he ended up on the Feet once. Who knows?]

So which ship are you on?

Yeah. Not every day you see someone with that much fur.

Is it mostly humans here?

I've met like ten people tops, so I wouldn't know. Not exactly the most outgoing person ever.

Oh. Well, now you met eleven.

Met is pretty generous for talking once. This isn't even a video.

[Finn laughs.]

Does it only count if we're in person? I gotta wait till I get off here before I can meet anyone, then.

It's not like I make up the requirements for what counts as a meeting... But this totally isn't a meeting.

[That explains why she says she's only met a couple people, then.]

Not much reason to get off your ship?

Nothing to do. We don't have any money right now.

And nowhere to spend it I can see.

[Not that he's ever actually had any money.]

Hopefully we'll go to a new space station and our accounts won't be frozen. Then maybe we'll have something to do.

Maybe I'll even have some money by then. Be nice to go shopping.

Doubt you would've been kidnapped if you weren't entertaining to watch, so you'll probably have some soon. Which isn't comforting, but it's kinda the best I got.

[He makes a rude noise.]

Only if they think entertaining is meeting everybody I know from like fifty years in the past.

I bet a bunch of people do. It's like a time traveling soap opera in space.

That's gotta be awkward, though.

[Hey, he managed not to "but you're dead!" to at least a couple people, that's a good start.]

The time travel's throwing me off more than the rest. I watched soap operas in space back home.

In my experience, it's better just to stop count on things making sense and roll with it.

That sounds a little too much like the rest of my life recently.
