[As is common with new arrivals, there are a few very confused moments of waking up and scrambling around before the Fleet's newest arrival manages to find and switch off the nearest camera.

About half an hour later and significantly less panicked-looking, he switches it back on. Some quality time spent with his augment answered the pressing questions, like where am I and why aren't there any weapons here, and that he's not going to get an answer to are my friends okay without a little further input from him. So. If they're here, he reasons, they'll recognize him.]

Shouldn't there be more people here? Or do I get to be the only lucky winner this week?

The name's Finn. There are people on the other ships out there, right?

[Look it's very lonely on the Marsiva right now.]

[Mostly to himself, and less yelpy but still confused.] That can't be right.

[And then louder, addressing the comm again:] What year is it for you? I'm from 34 years after the Battle of Yavin.

[Whew. Looks like she's not the person furthest ahead anymore.]

Twenty-four years ABY. I have to say, it feels good to have someone else around who can go by the same calendar.

No kidding.

[It's certainly thrown him for a loop, though; if she's from ten years ago and doesn't know Kylo Ren--maybe one of her brothers changes his name? No, because he changed it away from Ben. Finn's silent for another long moment.]

Okay, how about this one. I know the First Order's been around since before that. You at least know that?

I'm going to be blunt, here -- [She does better that way.] -- the Imperial remnant's got a lot of factions. But if it helps, we've mostly been dealing with the Second Imperium.

Never heard of them.

[Oddly enough, this is relieving to him. He's already heard of people from several different versions of a single planet, so knowing that time travel/different timelines is a thing makes it easier to accept alternate paths.]

I'm pretty sure that means we're from different versions of the galaxy. You'd know about the First Order. General Organa--your mom, right? She leads the Resistance against them.

[She goes quiet for a bit. A name like the Resistance doesn't make it sound like the New Republic's turned out well.]

I...suppose that makes sense. Uncle Luke says he learned the future can always change.

Mom became a general? [She'd always seen her focusing on being a Jedi if she wasn't busy with politics. Maybe she's both, who knows.]

And I am from the future, compared to everyone else.

[His voice softens. Sure, he'd only met Leia briefly, but she'd made a very favorable impression on him. Especially when her actions lines up so perfectly with the Rebellion figurehead he'd learned about.]

She was before, you know? In the Rebellion. And she was a Senator for a long time, when everything was at peace. But she was one of the only ones who saw the threat for what it was.

[Well, that part's something she can relate to. It's a proud family tradition to have to go deal with a problem with the bureaucrats drag their feet.]

For me, she went on to be Chief of State. I know she fights, but I've never known her as a general.

Chief of State. I could see it.

[Even if it's just as good she hadn't been with the rest of the Senate recently.]

So you get a Second Imperium to deal with, huh?

[An affirmative noise.]

One of Uncle Luke's earliest students was an Imperial spy. He wasn't quite able to redeem him, and the spy went back to found a dark Jedi academy. They tried raiding the New Republic for parts to build a new fleet and everything, but their entire fleet strategy was pinned on exploiting friendly fire safeties coded in the units they stole. They fell apart pretty quickly once we figured that out.

Huh. Yeah, we have--they're called the Knights of Ren. Supreme Leader Snoke of the First Order picked some people who were strong with the Force and corrupted them. The rest of the First Order is military, but they're real bad news.

It sounds like they haven't been handled very well. I suppose there isn't even a truce in place?

[Finn snorts, sounding dangerously close to making a rude noise.]

No. No, there's not. We were in the middle of a battle when I ended up here.

No injuries? We can get Nomi to help with healing if you need it.

[She can't see him wincing, but she might be able to hear the strain in his voice.]

I got injuries. But I guess Atroma didn't want me bleeding out on the welcome table.

So you've at least had some attention. That's good, we're a bit short on bacta tanks.

[Read: we don't have bacta.]

Yeah, I saw some medical equipment over here? But nothing really familiar. It probably worked, but a medic might know for sure.

Please tell me we have medics here.
