[It's been a few days since she went unconscious for no good reason, but when she wakes up, Octavia has no real grasp on the concept of time thanks to a three month trip back home. Somehow.

The process goes from slow to alarmingly fast quicker than she could draw her sword. She shoots up in bed, not realizing she's in the med bay on her ship, eyes darting around like a cornered animal.]

Lincoln?! [Of course her comm is on the table beside the bed recording every moment.

Octavia all but leaps off the cot, blanket falling away to reveal a new tattoo on her arm going part way up her neck. It only takes a moment for the blood to rush to her head, forcing her to sit back down with more force than she cares for. She places a hand to her head as all of it-- the fleet and home-- come rushing back.]

Dammit! [She lashes out, she needs to, kicking at the table beside her, giving the broadcast a shaky view before it settles to show her sitting on the bed with her head in her hands. Now she knows it's on.]

Dammit. How long was I out?

Octavia. [ a restrained sort of concern. sansa bites down on her bottom lip. ] What's the matter?

[ Nova's reply shows a girl who's concerned and relieved at once. She had noticed the radio silence from Octavia and asked around, but there are never any guarantees. She stays calm, though, for Octavia's sake ]

Octavia. You were— it was a few days.

Oh, hey, look who's up. Get any new memories while you were out.

[He's kind of used to this after his castmates kept passing out on him in Asgard, tbh.]

... You were out?

[Looks like their absences overlapped a little.]

[Oh fuck. Octavia exhales slowly, trying to calm down. It's only when she feel in control that she picks up the comm to address Sansa.]

I went home I think. A lot happened.

[There's a huff of what could be disbelief.]

Three months for me. [She runs a hand through her hair, trying to relieve some of whatever she's feeling.]

Gotta admit, I'm not a fan of being caught up this way.

Wait, what?

[ she doesn't really get what just went down, despite it just happening to her boyfriend ]

Plenty. [He can hear her snort.]

Birdy, I swear to God, we'd better have some alcohol left on this ship.

Out cold. [She pauses.]

Didn't you leave?

Exactly what I said.

[She angles the camera to show Nova her tattoo.]

Clearly didn't have this before, did I?

No. You didn't.

So it feels like you were gone for three months just to wake up back here?

Pretty much. New memories, new physical things obviously, plus I know how to do things I didn't before?

Back home, I have a horse now.

[ ~~no one has tried to eat it yet???~~ ]

I can speak Trigedasleng-- another language, much better than I did before. I just know more.

[Plus, that three months is more time spent on Earth than her previous stay.]

... Wish I could tell you. Sorry, I was — out for a little while, too.

[She pauses, and then goes for it.] You were out, too? Not another alien orgy, right?

Not sure I have anything hard, but I'll dig something up.

[ transmission end. she shows up a little while later with some drinks, knocking on Octavia's doorframe ]

Hey.

[It's good it took a bit, since she's only finally settled back in her bunk. Screw going over to open up the hatch, though. Nova's a big girl.]

It's open, come on down, but mind the ladder.

[ wow fancy schmancy. she climbs down and hands Octavia a drink, looking for where she can sit ]

Wow. It's different seeing the tattoo in person.

Welcome back to the land of the living. Nice tattoos. I guess.

[ they do look pretty weird, and it was quieter without her around. ]

[By now, she's more or less focused and aware of things, so she's able to shoot back a not completely unintelligible response.]

I wasn't dead, dumb ass, but thanks. [And despite her words, there's a hint of a grin.]

[Congrats, Octavia, you got a grin out of him. It's sad that he'd rather be having that orgy in traumatic flashbacks than go home, yeah? Winchester lives, man. He shakes his head, scoffing.]

No, no. I'm a changed man. Spent a few weeks back home, actually.

[He's not enthused by it, to be put lightly.]

You think so? [It's weird to her. While she technically just woke up with it, it still feels like she's had it for enough time to be used to the thing.

Octavia scoots back in her bed, closer to the head, nodding for Nova to come join her.]
