[A lot has gone on lately, many different conversations that in some form or another had Furiosa thinking about home. Even her experience ~~headbutting~~ helping Max took her back, and while she has been in the Fleet for some time now, the curiosity about the fate of those they left behind hasn't lessened. It's been unsaid, and she tries not to worry herself about it since there's nothing she can do, but she wonders. How would everyone fare? Who would take up in her stead? The Wives? The remaining Vuvalini? The past week has made it hard to forget about, so maybe if she indulges in dwelling in it]

[She opens a video, looking slightly worn after the debacle with Max's tooth and her own lingering concerns about home, but otherwise she seems to be doing well.]

Does anyone else wonder about the state of the homes we were pulled from? Anyone ... else ... feel like they're missing out on responsibilities?

If they can take us from any time they can probably put us back in any time. Maybe nothing gets missed. Or maybe no one ever actually goes back. Speculation is fun. [Doesn't actually stop her from doing it.]

I assume you're asking because you feel the same way? May I ask what your situation was?

Everyday I wonder about my home. How my friends are doing. And I suppose other things, like I mean, what if I left the stove on or something? [Or what is that person I was trying to stop destroying all of humanity doing without me stopping him.]

I guess I hadn't considered that as a possibility ... [It's something to get used to, at least; the idea that Time isn't linear and there are those with the ability to manipulate it.]

I did. I should have asked for a heads up when you started so I could get on training; guns are easily mishandled. [Srs Bsns here.]

[Furiosa gives her a dry chuckle.] Glad I'm not the only one.

What did you leave behind?

Last thing we need is anyone having an accident.

We toppled the regime. I was more or less in charge. There are a few who can carry on without me, but ... I would have liked to see the change.

[A short chuckle,] Sounds like you lead a simple life.

It must have been satisfying. I'm sorry you weren't able to witness more of it, but hopefully you can return quickly.

[Kitty's from a place where time manipulation isn't all that unusual and then another place like this where it was all the rage.] I haven't been here that long, so if the Atroma have given a standard answer for that kind of thing, I don't know what it is. I'd probably doubt whatever they said though. [Which tends to leave her with more questions than answers.]

[At some point, on some day -- Furiosa will venture into her main room and find Max there. He hadn't forgotten her offer, anyway; tuckered out, he leans against the bed, sitting on the floor, apparently having a short rest. Exhaustion is the best way to go to sleep for himself, so he has made it a habit as of late to get himself weary enough to rest.

... But this place feels a bit more secure than most, so he naps.

He'll awake whenever she comes in, but the only real sign of it will be one eye popping open blearily; no bad dreams today, no snapping up to swing or gasping awake. He's alright, having an easier time compared to the last week or two.]

Hmm.

[Hi.]

I do try! [And tends to fail, but he likes to dream.] A nice and quiet life is what I was enjoying before I ended up in space. I'm looking forward to that again some time.

Business commitments. Dinner plans with friends. I -- [ she doesn't want to come out and say being a superhero. ] A lot of the same stuff as Clint did. You're on the First Breath, right? I've seen you around...

[ kate's on the blameless, but she gatecrashes the first breath every few days. ]

It was. [She takes a deep breath and let's it out in a heavy sigh.]

It's been nearly a year. Things nice quickly in my world, when change happens it happens fast; if it were going to fail, by the time I get back it'll be too late.

Hmm. You're right. It's not worth getting myself worked up over. [But the burning questions continue to grow.]

[Furiosa comes in to change out of grease-stained clothing and take a break from the poisoned air. She feels a slight fever and nausea but pushes on, but it's enough in combination to do her reactions, startling momentarily when she sees him before she realizes who it is and the offer she had made. She goes back about her business with an acknowledging nod. If there's anything of considering their last interaction with the tooth, she doesn't mention it.]

Crew acting up?

If your new system did collapse, would the previous regime gain power once more?

[He runs a hand over his face.]

... No... Just wanted to rest somewhere quiet.

Too uncomfortable to sleep with a mask on.

[He cocks his head to the side.]

You're not wearing yours enough, either.

[He's been taking his off from time to time out of want. But after two days of it, he's pretty much given up being stubborn; the mask isn't too bad. He'll live.]

[Furiosa tried to keep track of everyone visiting, but worth the job opportunities here and back in the Starlight, there's a considerable amount of time she's not on the ship; it's only logical she'd miss someone.]
