Are there any traditions or customs you still observe even though we're on the ships? If so, how do you keep track of when they are?

I still celebrate holidays. Other people seem to know roughly what day it is, but come to think of it, I'm not sure how.

It's strange, isn't it? I don't really have any reliable way of keeping track of the days, but it's like there's a... pull, when a holiday gets close.

Like a certain feeling. I get it- some part of you just knows. Maybe because it's such a habit, our brains are naturally tuned to the rough time it's supposed to be happening.

Yeah, something akin to the Circadian Rhythm, maybe. It's kind of reassuring in a way, knowing we won't just forget things.

I agree. It's one of those things that lets us have a sense of normalcy... like it's something Atroma can't take away from us.

Something they can't take away... I like that idea. It's strange how you start missing even the things you disliked, now that they're truly gone.

Yeah... they've taken us away from so much, I try to cling onto the bits of normalcy I can.

It's true, isn't it? I even miss my boyfriend visiting my infirmary every other day because he was convinced he was gravely sick or injured.

It's a little funny; they're not even exactly normal for me, but they stick in my mind and I find myself relieved.

Mmhmm. It's familiar, and the familiar can be comforting.

You know, I only caught onto that in retrospect. I mean, he was still a really big baby when it came to pain and sickness, but... well, both of us could be clueless when it came to flirting.

That's true. I guess it makes me think of friends. [At least you can't see hesitation in text...] Sounds like he was a bit of trouble to handle, but I can understand that anyway. Flirting is... confusing.

Tell me about it. So much of my time was spent on school growing up, I never really learned how. Rodney had had a few serious relationships before me, but even then he wasn't good at picking up on signals. So we made quite a pair.

Social cues are pretty confusing, I think. I'd like to meet him sometime, he sounds like a good sort of person, much like you.

Well, thank you for saying so. ... Part of me wants him to show up here, too, even though I'm not sure he'd be a great contestant. I miss him a lot.

That's natural. We miss people from home even when we didn't have the best relationships. Being stuck somewhere completely without them is rough.

It's been a while, too- since I've seen him or ANYONE from home, actually. That's one of the many things I don't get about this place- why some people have a bunch of people from home show up and others have none.

It's nonsense, isn't it? I guess... if it were like home, it might have had something to do with a person's popularity. Or a show's popularity, in some cases.

... Which is a really strange thought, that this is the result of some other show or shows.

Yeah. ... I don't like that thought at all, really. Maybe it's different here, but if it were something like that... I guess the unfortunate ones would probably show up most.

They seem to be the most well-liked in stories.

I doubt that will be something I need, since I don't expect to have any romantic interests anytime soon, but I'll keep that in mind.
