[Video] [Accidental] [Tyrion never starts this thing on purpose.]
[The phone is only turned on when it is dropped on the floor, giving an odd view of Tyrion from the bottom up, where he is fastening expensive looking boots onto his feet. They are oddly made as well, almost as if they are to be made to work as braces instead of just fancy looking footwear.
Which, to the medically astute, they are. Yes, Tyrion had boots made to help support his rather crooked legs. That should tell you that the variety of odd jobs he's working is profitable indeed.
A small hand reaches down to pick up the phone, seeing the freshly shaven face of Tyrion, who eyes the device with a sigh.]
... Right, well, I am going down to the planet, if anyone is interested in joining me. Shuttle leaves in fifteen minutes. I hope no one took the time to look up my skirts.
[The faintest of smirks, before he shuts down the thing.]

Re: video;
An excellent investment.
If you're still looking for company on the ride down, I'll head over. I wanted to go dirt side again today.
Re: video;
[He nods.] I shall be pleased to wait - ah - might I have your name sir?
video;
Well, if there's a good way to spend coin, those are definitely two of them.
[ Though he wasn't one for paying for companionship, but to each their own. ]
Ah, sorry. It's Jim Kirk. And yours? Helps to know who I'll be looking for and sharing a shuttle with.
Re: video;
[Coming from a world where he would have to pay, and then ... not having to pay, was odd. Enjoyably odd, but odd.]
[A bow, as always.] Tyrion Lannister, of House Lannister, which in this place is simply me. Trust me, you are fortunate in that.
Re: video;
Just watch out with the charm. Some species take it very wrong and you get slapped in very uncomfortable places for your efforts.
[ Kirk would know. But lessons well learned! ]
Sounds fancy. If we're being technical I'm Captain Jim Kirk of the Federation Star Ship U.S.S. Enterprise.
[ He sketched a salute to him. ]
But Kirk will do fine. Give me about fifteen minutes and I can be where you are.
Re: video;
[He's ... not entirely sure where else one can get slapped that would be uncomfortable, but he is starting to have some ideas.]
Too fancy, many would say. Please feel free to simply call me Tyrion.
[Another half bow.]
I shall be waiting.
video > action;
Will do, Tyrion.
[ He signs off, but Tyrion will see his face not to long after as he approaches in real life, dressed in his favorite jeans, boots, and black t-shirt. It wasn't hard for him to pick out Tyrion and he raised his hand in greeting. ]
Hey. You ready to go?
Re: video > action;
I am ready to go. Are you?
action;
[ He waggled his simple breathing mask - the functional sort without much in the way of adornment. But Kirk was not a flashy man - except when it came to his smile and eyes. ]
This your first time going down there?
[ He waited for Tyrion to take lead since he had the shuttle, matching his pace so as not to out-stride him. ]
Re: action;
Not at all. I have already been to taste the local culture. Alas it is ... too physical for me by far, but I am learning a great deal.
[He shifted their shuttle out of the docking bay, shuddering as they went out into open space.]
Yourself?
Re: action;
[ For himself, Kirk looks perfectly at home in the shuttle. In fact, his eyes track the stars as they float by, even relaxing further as they drift. ]
I go down pretty much every day if I can. I've been going out into the woods, picking up samples of the flora to see if I can analyze it here, or have someone else help me.
I think it would help us figure out what's going wrong, and if there's a way to reverse it.
Re: action;
I agree completely. I've been speaking with members of the city council - or bureaucrats - not really sure about leadership around here. Trying to gain their trust, so they'll let me see the machinery. What have you found?
Re: action;
Mostly I've been picking up things like tree branches, leaves, any weeds or what I think might be flowers. There's nothing I can see as being extremely helpful as of now - other than the obvious conclusion that the current state is not a natural one.
But until we can get access to those machines, it's about all I can think of to try and find an answer.
[ He had considered breaking in, but he didn't want to get tossed in jail or cause an incident. ]
Re: action;
I shall have to increase my efforts to charm, then. We cannot leave these people in this state, if we can.
Re: action;
I don't know. I don't think my ship does, and I've been wanting to find people who might. You can run some tests with medical equipment, but those are limited in the data they can provide, and I'm not a lab tech, so my own knowledge is limiting too. Like I said, for now I've been concentrating on gathering samples I think would be useful.
[ He smiled at Tyrion. ]
Agreed. I've seen what happens when help comes to late. I don't know how much we can do, or even what we can do, but I feel we should at least try to do something.
Re: action;
At least then, you can get a better idea of the resources available to you.
[He looked out the window once more.] ... If more had tried, perhaps the world would not be the state it is in.
Re: action;
That's the idea. Hopefully it will help, even a little bit.
[ There's a tenseness in those words, as if the thought of finding nothing was mildly terrifying to him. ]
Perhaps. We don't really know how long they've been here, or what resources they've had, or the type of people they've come across. They've had contact with outsiders before, since they don't seem surprised by us. If all they get is random visitors like us, though, the chances of them being able to do anything is as low as it is for us, I think.
[ He shrugged. ]
It doesn't matter what others have or have not done before us. What matters is what we do here and now.
Re: action;
[Tyrion asked, his eyes flashing for a moment, before he hums.]
I typically find it best to assume people have not tried everything, or haven't tried something in a long time that would now work because it failed once. However, we shall see what we will have to do.
action;
It's generally safe to think that, yes, they haven't explored all angles, probably because they haven't seen them all. It's always good to get a new pair of eyes on a problem for just that reason.
But you're right, we'll have to see what we see. Maybe we should try plying the locals - in a settlement this size, I bet there aren't to many secrets.
Re: action;
Well, I cannot see the fault in that. Especially since it might lead to a solution.
[He shook his head.] Nothing worth twisting someone's arm about, I'd gather. Sweeter targets with honey instead of vinegar.
action;
I meant buying them beers, not putting them in thumb-screws.
Re: action;
[What, Kirk? He comes from a very bad place.]
Re: action;
Torture is ineffective as a method anyways - not to mention outlawed where I'm from.
[ At least Star Fleet, Earth, and Vulcan didn't do that sort of thing, though every planet kept its own laws too. Certainly Nero had no problem using the method on Pike. ]
Besides, if we go to a bar it means I can get a drink too.
Re: action;
[Westeros had ... more open ideas on torture. None of them good.]
Ah, a man after my own heart.
Re: action;
No reason not to make an interrogation enjoyable for us too, right?
[ He grinned broadly. ]
