[Y'all, Misty can't be the only one who hates this place, so let's all gather on the Iskaulit, safe from all that dark and rot down on the polluted moon and have ourselves a good time!

[Misty looks up at the stranger with a big smile.]

Neat, ain't it? It's one of my potions.

[ That just makes her own smile grow! ]

Very neat! So you made it yourself? All the way out here in space?

Yeah... took a few tries to get it right, since they don't have the exact same kind of plants and herbs that we have on Earth but I managed to find some replacements. Might even work better than the one at home.

Ahh, interesting! I don't really know much about potions, but if they can do things like that, then they must be wonderful.

[ Small pause. ]

Mm, you don't have to answer - I know rules are different for everyone around here - but... does that make you a witch? Dealing with potions?

That's right - and I don't mind you askin'. Least no one here seems to care that I am.

[ Nod! ] Mhm. It's nice - everyone's been very accepting since I've been here.

[ Time to show her own secret skills. Her eyes glow a bright green, and sparks play at the corner of her mouth when she says: ]

Shortcut: lily!

[ Poof! A single white lily appears out of nowhere, and she gently catches it from the air by the stem. She offers it to Misty. ]

I can do this, but I'm no witch. It's a pleasure to meet the real deal!

[Misty takes the flower, her eyes wide with excitement.]

That's amazing! I can't do nothing like that, make things appear out of nowhere.

[She sniffs the lily. Seems real enough.]

Can you just do it with flowers, or can you do it with anything you want?

Almost anything! Complicated things take more words, which makes me lose my voice a lot faster. But it's handy if I want a snack that's not weird space food!

[ She looks back to the flowers that Misty just willed to life with her magic potion, another smile on her face. ]

And I doubt I could ever find a way to call up a whole potion, like yours... that's something really special! I could maybe help with ingredients, though. Depends.

Really? That would be real helpful if I could have plants I know from Earth to make my potions. I've been havin' to do a lot of experimentin' with these space plants instead and well... This batch turned out all right but I can't say the same for others.

Ahh. I hope it wasn't too bad... But sure, I'm willing to try! Next time you want to make a potion, I'll see if I can figure out a way to get your ingredients! [ Nod! ] Oh -- I'm Kotoha. What's your name?

Misty! It's real nice to meet you!

It's so great to meet you too, Misty! [ You can tell she means it. She's practically beaming with excitement. ] I still feel like I'm new here... It's nice to make new friends.

[And Misty beams right on back.] I'm pretty new myself. Just got here back in January.

December, for me. Still feels like yesterday... Even if we have already been to a few different places! Not that I'm particularly enjoying this one...

[ She makes a face, sighs... Gross, polluted moon is not her idea of a good time. ]

Some of the games are kind of fun, but the state of the place... it's sad.

I've seen some horrible things - got an oil spill not too long ago where I'm from - but that wasn't nothing compared to this place. Pollution sinks into your very bones here.

Oil spill? That's terrible! But you're right, this place may be worse than a hundred oil spills...

I wish we could do something... I know, there's probably no instant fix for everything, especially when it's that bad! But even if it's a small step... you know?

I know what you mean. I been try to do what I can here and there, but what can one person do against an entire planet?
