I'd say glasses don't seem like they'd be all that good a disguise for this. [Gesturing toward him.] But I'm guessing you have another form. [Which she was already guessing due to his size. The other ships wouldn't handle it as easily as this one.]

But concealment wasn't really what I had in mind.

No. I didn't become a wereman until comparatively recently. In the last five hundred years.

Can I ask your age or is that taboo for wolves too?

I don'y know how old I am. Years mean little to Fables and even less to wolves. I am at least a thousand years old. I am probably much, much older. The Mirror says I am probably as old as humanity's fear of wolves.

I'd probably stop counting over a thousand too.

So you refer to yourself as a Fable? And this mirror, would that be the one who tells you if you're the fairest in all the land?

We call ourselves Fables. We found a world where our stories are told over and over and they called them Fables, so we ran with it.
