[Y'all, Misty can't be the only one who hates this place, so let's all gather on the Iskaulit, safe from all that dark and rot down on the polluted moon and have ourselves a good time!

[While he doesn't really like the castle any more than Crowley, he'd developed a kind of understanding of it that was something like empathy. It was simply the way it was.]

I've wondered the same, myself. They're too...perfect.

[Crowley lets out a 'tch' at that, tapping the bar with a finger. ]

Exactly. No one's that perfect, it's not possible. They should be fucking up somewhere and they're not. It's not natural.

Nothing they would claim to be errors, at least. They're very good at smiling at us and telling us it's all according to plan.

Again, it's all horribly familiar to Hell. Hell o fuck up, of course, but they;re very good at covering those fuck ups. Largely because the demons that do fuck up are very quickly terminated. And I don't mean the fired sort.

...Though come to think of it there's usually a lot of actual fire involved.

And here I thought politics back home were precarious.

[They probably have the fire part in common, at least, which makes his stomach turn just the tiniest bit. He takes a sip of his drink to hide the grimace]

Yeah. Hell hath no fury like...Hell.

[He takes a drink of his own. Adam said that he had nothing to fear from Hell, that he'd deal with it. But still...Hell is very clever and it knows how to GET him. There's a reason he's never overly happy at the prospect of going home and this is it. ]

They aren't fans of rebellion. At least, rebellion against them.

[He stares at the back of the bar for a moment]

Is that what you did?

[He can't help but ask, even if feels like treading on sacred ground. He wants to know]

[And honestly, Felix deserves to know. It's been long enough. ]

I helped fuck up their apocalypse and I kind of murdered one of the Dukes of Hell. Though to be fair, he was coming after me first, so it was technically self defence.

[He pauses, then adds nonchalantly: ]

Oh yeah, and I was prepared to battle Satan with a tyre iron. That too.

So yes, they are rather pissed off with me.

[This response gets an even more protracted pause than the last one because the mental image is both hilarious and startling, knowing Crowley's general attitude of not getting involved. Intentionally pissing off his superiors was one thing, but that kind of rebellion was another.]

Crowley...but...why?

[Crowley groans, pushing his shades up a little as he pinches the bridge of his nose. Good question, really. ]

Because I happened to enjoy living on Earth, and I like humanity. I'd watched the whole bloody species grow and I didn't want to stand by and watch it all go down the pan just because a bunch of eternal beings needed a cosmic time out.

[And that's the real, honest reason. People not as close to him would have gotten a lazy half-arsed response about Earth having the best booze and music. But no, the real reason was that Crowley couldn't bear to see the human race get blotted out of existence. ]

[His expression falls to a soft frown that's as much for the effort it costs Crowley to give him the truth as much as it is for the slight regret he feels at pushing this on the demon.]

While I may not be from your world - [He reaches out to touch Crowley's fingers] on the behalf of humanity...thank you. Though I'm not always sure we deserve it.

[Crowley reaches his own fingers to brush against Felix's. His tone remains flippant though, trying to sell it for less than it's worth. ]

Yeah well. It'd be pretty pointless to start from scratch again after everything that's happened. Like stomping on a carefully constructed sandcastle just for shits and giggles or something.

[He'll not mention how he couldn't bear the thought of existing when humanity did not. He started the mess they were in, it was only fair he kept them from meeting a grizzly end. ]

It would be quite a waste.

[His tone, in answer, says that he knows there's more to it than that, but isn't going to say so. He lets the implication fall between them, as weighty as a stone.]

Though...speaking of wastes...[He withdraws his hand at the same time he withdraws from the subject]...this so called planet we're at...

[Crowley visibly eases up and the subject is changed, glad to be away from it. He gives a short bark of a laugh, adjusting his shades.]

Tell but about it. What a pathetic dump this turned out to be. I am considerably not-wowed.
