Quick and painless interruption. I promise. Couple weeks ago I talked to a guy who didn't even know about the Avengers. So who does? What about the Young Avengers? I've seen a few familiar faces but there's gotta be more of us. Right? [ oh, she sounds hopeful. ] Or maybe you've heard of the Avengers while you were stuck somewhere else before here. I'd love to hear about it.

[ --- kate waits in silence for a moment, before adding: ] Also, I wish the fleet had a dance club. [ ... ] Hawkeye, out.

[ later that evening, she can be found at the classier gin joint on the iskaulit. although she's in a dress and her hair could be accurately described as done, kate sits with a nursed singapore sling and a notepad at her corner of the bar. it looks as though she's reviewing earlier conversations from the network, and is transcribing the occasional note. that said, she seems approachable. whenever someone passes by, she nods a greeting and smiles. doesn't hurt to be polite. ]

I think it's all she ever wanted. [ to be a part of a team. ] We joined the Young Avengers at the same time, me and her. Basically strong-armed are way onto the team.

Oh, most likely. But it also offers the gift of hindsight. To re-evaluate yourself.

[ as a general rule, kate isn't too fond of re-evaluating anything. she trusts her gut for a reason -- but at the same time, she can't rule out that others might benefit from such an opportunity. so she nods. ]

Is that what you found? Did it help?

Do you think that's why people were brought there? [ kate frowns. if she'd been there -- well, what did that mean? did that 'her' feel helped by such a loss? ] Like, some kind of interdimensional therapy?

I don't think so, but it is possible. A way to connect different people together for varied results. I doubt that therapy is the main goal though.

Did anyone figure out what the main goal was?

The prominent theory is entertainment for the masses, but I am not so certain of that.

Ah, no. If you meant Aather, our goal there was to restore that world. Finish the unfinished stories.

[ she smooooths gently over his misunderstanding, feeling nonplussed. ]

What happened to the world? Why did it need to be restored?

There was a force that had destroyed it. A Darkness. The Personae of Aather needed heroes from other worlds to fight it off. And to complete its story.

So they hijacked everyone else's. Gee, how thoughtful.

It is hard to say. The Darkness is real and they mentioned that it does infiltrate other worlds as well. At least, they were not lying.

[ Unlike the Atroma which they know nothing about. ]

How do you know? Did someone verify their claims?

Ah, no. We witnessed the Darkness and fought against it regularly.

But I'm guessing it was a little bit more than just -- actual darkness.
