Who: Kara & co
Broadcast: fleet-wide
Action: S.S. Tourist
When: now! and whenever
[ In her video transmission, Kara has her blonde hair up in a messy topknot, wearing standard-issue clothes. She pushes her glasses up the bridge of her nose and looks a little sheepish ]
Um. Hi! Sorry to send this to everyone... Well, I had a question I wanted to pose to everyone but then another thing came up and...
Does anyone know how to reattach a door to a washing machine? I had a little mishap... and I still have a lot of laundry to get done. Anyway, it'd be awful if I didn't at least ask how to put it back the way it was.
The second thing is completely unrelated. Does anyone else feel really weird about wanting friends or family to show up? I don't think I'd wish this experience on anyone against their will, but as long as we're going to be here... it'd be nice to have familiar faces, don't you think? How do you deal with the conflict?
And is there any way to request they bring crullers with them?

Hey, I'm not blaming you, and I absolutely believe you when you say you have control. You just don't have it right this second, so let's ere on the side of caution, shall we? Never thought I'd hear myself say that, but there it is.

So what do you think? Will it need a lot of finagling?
no subject
No, I don't think we'll need to do very much to it. We should have these parts and tools on board.

But what would we do when you break the sink?
[ He's teasing you Kara, a low laugh pointing that out. ]

I have a gauge now, you know.

I'm just saying - I'm an engineer, not a plumber.
[ Ah, channelling Bones! He wasn't sure if he liked it or not. Maybe not. It didn't sound right without that southern drawl to it. ]

All the same, I'll prep us to bail if the ship starts flooding.
[ Nope, not letting you off the hook that easy Kara. You broke a door, he has to tease you mercilessly for at least a good hour. Or until he's done fixing the door. ]

Now you're getting it.

Aye aye, captain.

[ He grinned at her. ]
You do realize that this means when I do something you get to tease me about it too, right?

So buck up and pass me the wrench.

[ A pity, but come on, you can't be all powerful Kara. Greedy. He nods his thanks and sets to work, biting the tip of his tongue and sets the door to rights. ]

Heh, I'll keep that in mind.
[ He paused and glanced back at her briefly. ]
What is it you wanted to do back home, Kara? You know - career wise, life wise.

[ she shrugs ]
Help people, mostly.
no subject
All right, but how? I mean - did you want to be a teacher, a fire fighter, the one person who keeps your boss from going insane?
[ You won't get away with being vague this time Kara. ]

[ well, the dam's already broken ]
I also put on a special outfit and cape and fly around the city looking for people to help.

[ He recalls one of their first conversations. ]
Let me guess - you're one of those super heroes who looks after one of those cities you mentioned.
