Who: Leto + You
Broadcast: Video
Action: N/A
When:

[ The video flickers on to Leto sitting on his bed, kicking his legs briefly. He grins when the video starts recording, pushing himself onto his feet. He tilts his head, that odd bird-like movement he often exhibits. ]

I have heard some interesting things of late, so I thought I'd put the question to you all. When you fall in love, can you only love one person? Can you fall in love with multiple people? Is love something you find yourself stopping after just one?

I don't really know a lot about love, but I'm pretty sure that serial monogamy is a thing?

Well, the ideal is to find the One, isn't it? But who knows if that's in the cards for me.

[Leto, what even?] It's a hell of a lot easier if you're only in love one at a time.

Honestly, it depends. Some people can only love one person at a time or, perhaps, ever. Others find themselves torn between multiple people, unable or unwilling to choose only one. There are some who never fall in love. As for relationships, that's an entirely different story.

Marketing and societal norms?

[She looks at him a moment as if he might not be serious. Because how is this not obvious?]

You can just focus on one person without worrying about hurting someone else or everyone else.

Which you're saying like it's not a primary field of study for you?

[ aka you're not from earth? ]

That's kind of pessimistic even for me. I mean I'm not saying every day is going to be a good one, but there's hurting and then there's hurting.

The emotional equivalent of a paper cut against a gut wound.

Huh.

Well, couples were the norm where I'm from, too.

[This question disturbs Susan on a number of levels that all ring with people that she misses. At first she intends to pass it by entirely, but she continues to think about it throughout the day.

She's still not used to communicating through these devices, but after reviewing them for the past week or so it seemed you didn't have to start with an introduction or a greeting. You just started talking.

So.]
I think that's asking the wrong question.

Isn't it different for different people? If you're looking for one definitive answer for yourself, I think you might have to learn through experience, you know?

It is a rather pointed topic of conversation.
