[You know what's great about being a seraph? Never getting sick. You know what's not great about being a seraph? Having zero frame of reference for what being sick is like when you experience it for the first time. And after a month of quietly enduring and/or ignoring it, despite being a water elemental trapped on a planet full of poisonous water, it's finally caught up to him.

It doesn't help that this realization comes hand in hand with the fact that he's been upgraded to captain, apparently, which is as nonsensical a decision as he's ever heard from the Atroma. The one perk - besides the sudden lack of malevolence on the Huntress due to Greed's departure - means that he now has a big bed to curl up and be miserable in.]

I have a few questions.

is there some sort of guide for captain's duties? for those who lack experience.

how do you tell whether you are dying or just sick

[...Those questions should probably have had a completely different priority, but whatever. He's too sick to be bothered.

He makes an attempt at sending this out as an anonymous communication, but he's a bit too light-headed and bleary-eyed to pull it off, so it probably doesn't work too well. He still doesn't show up on camera, so there is that.]

[ Chuckling a little to himself, he turns off the feed and heads to wherever Mikleo is. ]

[Mikleo's still in his newly-appointed room, flat on his back on the bed with a wet cloth on his forehead. He's not happy.]

How do humans deal with this? Most of you get sick a few times a year, don't you?

I wouldn't know. I don't fall sick all that often.

I've never been sick in my life. Certainly never anything like this...

[It's less of a perk when it finally hits you harder than usual.]

Is it because of all the pollution? You've never dealt with it before, correct?

[ From what he remembers, Mikleo doesn't have a lot of experience with technology. ]

Yeah... my world wasn't like this at all. There was malevolence, but it's not the same.

[One, he at least can deal with... this is too much.]

Most likely the combination is what caused the sickness. It'll probably pass once we're away from the moon. That being said, perhaps surrounding yourself with plants or anything natural might mitigate the effects.

[ Obi-Wan vaguely recalls his own sicknesses that came from places like this moon - where the balance was horribly askew. ]

I tried that during the night of the masquerade- there was a museum with a healthy natural environment. It helped a little, but now that it's not accessible I feel worse than ever.

There's a garden on the Iskaulit. No substitute for a real one, but it should lessen the pollutants in your body.

[ He closes his eyes briefly, reaching into the Force. While he doesn't think Mikleo is dying, Obi-Wan is willing to respect the possibility. After a few minutes, he opens them again. ]

And you'll most certainly survive.

...You sound very certain of that.

[And- okay, he didn't really think he was dying. At least, he keeps telling himself that. Seraphim aren't killed so easily, right? And he's especially stubborn.

But it's... reassuring. To not be the only one.]

I may not be a Healer but I am attuned to any energy in the Force.

[ And every living creature, especially the Seraphim who seem to be deeply ingrained in the Living Force itself would be easy to diagnose. Even Anakin could do it. ]

Thanks for that, then. But I'd rather we leave this place before you can be proven wrong, or worse. Though I suppose we aren't being told that, as usual...

It is usually no longer than a month. At least, so far.

It already feels like it's been so much longer than it is.

[Ugh, he's so done with this place and the people living here.]

Do you know if there are many worlds like this? You're more experienced than I am.

[ He sits down, deliberating on this. ]

I can't say it's particularly common, though it does happen frequently. It depends on a lot of factors. The people, the situation, the planet itself for that matter.

The planet? You mean planets that are naturally toxic?

[There's a scary thought.]

Of course. Not every kind of life is meant to be hospital to humans.

I do understand that much- I'm not human, after all. What's livable for me isn't the same as a human's.

What about a planet with little or no water?

I... can't say whether or not a water seraph would manage in a world without any. There's still a lot I don't know about my own kind, and I had some difficulty when we visited a desert back home. But the others would be fine, I think. As long as there's life on the world, we live with it.

[ He nods. ]

There are dead planets though. Or toxic systems. The galaxy supports all kinds of planets.

...Yeah, about that. All I know of "terraforming" is what I learned here on this world. It's not something that exists where I'm from, since we lack the power to leave our own planet. So I'm not sure I fully understand.

[He sits up, dragging the cloth off his forehead and twisting it between his fingers uneasily.]

Why is it done in the first place? Do people really believe they have the right to change an entire world to suit their needs?
