[ In her broadcast, Kara is in her PJs, hair down and glasses off. She looks like she just woke up not too long ago and the overall vibe is very "confessional vlog". She doesn't seem distressed, just a little confused, and tired—though her eternal optimism is always there somewhere. ]

Hey, so, question: On a scale from "wow that's super weird we've never heard of something like that" to "it must be a Wednesday on the Fleet", how common is it to just like, get a bunch of "new" information from home? Which, now that I think about it, is kind of a dumb thing to ask because we have implants that give us job skills training. But I'm just wondering. Uh, in the abstract? Something like that.

Anyway, I'm going to go get some coffee and food because I'm starving. Who knew that sleeping was such hard work?

Alas, no. However, I like to make sure I note everything our captors do to us. Giving us more information from home certainly counts as a mixed blessing.

[He pauses, his gaze turning sympathetic.] Was it ... hurtful? The procedure or the memories?

There wasn't really a procedure or anything like that. More like dreams? That are actually memories.

The memories are somewhat more complicated, but that's how life is.

So ... when you woke up, you simply remembered life that you had yet to live?

[Now, that was fascinating. Also disturbing.] Life is ... complicated in ways we have yet to even imagine. I would not have seen myself here a few years ago.

That's pretty much it, yeah.

And I don't think anyone could see themselves here.

You mean ... you've never imagined yourself in a large metal vessel filled with people you do and do not know, flying off to the Seven know where, for strange and frankly nonsensical adventures?

[Amusement flashes over his face.] Well, that makes two of us.

Not in the exact details, no. My life is pretty crazy but I can't tell the future.

Most would consider that a blessing. Well, outside of the crazy parts.

Yeah. Though now it feels like I can. My friend is here and I remember more than he does.

I seem to be in the same situation - I remember a great deal more than the others who have come here.

Really? How are you handling it?

Mostly by cleverly not alluding to all I know. [A small smirk.] But by being sensitive to what I do, and do not know, seems to work well.

I don't know that I'll have much luck with that strategy.

Well, then I suggest you use caution, when you share what you know. You might not be able to tell the future - but now you are it's gatekeeper.

I'll try. My friends are pretty insistent though.

Do they trust you?

Completely.

Then, if there is something you feel it would be painful for them to know ... trust that they will understand your need for holding back. [It is the simple answer.] When the time comes, you can break the news to them, gently.

I appreciate the advice, and I'll try my best. There are some people I can't keep very many secrets from, though.
