video

Who: Toph Beifong
Broadcast: Everyone
Action: Anyone left on the Blue Fish
When: 19th, during the masquerade

[The video feed turns on to show Toph leaning back in the pilot's seat, durt covered feet resting on the console (dashboard?) without a care in the world. In her hands is a bag of space snacks. Maybe chip-like munchies, except they're bright blue, not that she can tell.

Through her chewing, she addresses the fleet, manners be damned.]

Most of you guys are that the dance thing on the polluted planet, right? [She takes another chip and pops it in her mouth, completely ignoring the fact that said planet is actually a moon. She really doesn't care.] What's the appeal? Just showing off how pretty you can be if you actually try?

[Her feet move lower, and she pushes off the edge of the console, spinning the chair around a few times, camera feed following. Hope no one gets motion sickness easily.]

No, really. Explain it to me. I wanna see if any reasoning makes sense. Not that I'm putting money on it.

[Yes, and Caterina is making a face that Toph can't see. But the disapproving look is there.]

I'm not sure any party without so much as a guest list could be called 'snooty.'

[Well, she has to laugh at that.]

Entirely possible. Probable, in fact. [Comes from being from the best family in Italy. Not that she's biased.] If it is not exclusivity that makes an event 'snooty,' what does?

There are certain expectations of dress and behavior. Is that so different from day to day life? You would not attend Mass in riding clothes and you would not go riding in a fine gown.

Mass is a religious service. [Okay, she needs to remember that she's not in Italy and not everyone is Catholic, pretending to be, or shunned from all society that matters. Not knowing what Mass is- that she can understand. But riding, Toph. Riding?]

Typically, one would ride a horse...

It was meant as an example. [Do you hear the point go whooshing by you, Toph?]

I did say 'typically.' You could ride a donkey, I suppose, or a mule, if you truly wished to. I daresay you would attract some attention. But when one speaks of 'going for a ride' it is on horseback.
