[Luke is already up and running around when the feed snaps on. He's got bright red hair and a long white coat, opened to show a red gem at his collarbone.]

Hey! Is anyone here? Can anyone hear me? I'm-- uh, I think I'm trapped! Hello?

[Wait, there's a red light and some kind of screen! He rushes over, not really recognizing this kind of technology but he'll take it. The stuff in the ranches was a lot like this, just less polished.]

There has to be a way... Maybe I can pull up a map? What would Jade do... Wait, I know! [He smashes a LOT OF BUTTONS. And turns the feed off in the process.

[ Kotoha is literally popcorn.gif-ing right now.

No seriously, she watched all of that video feed while she just so happens to be munching on some popcorn she took from the fancy party a little while ago and squirreled away until the munchies caught up with her (read: right now, apparently.) And when the feed suddenly shuts off, she snorts, amused.

She gives it another two seconds, then starts a feed of her own to reach out to the kid. ]

Ahh, hello! It's not a map, but... I can play welcoming committee, yes? You're on the Marsiva. It's... a space ship.

[ Oh boy, how well are you gonna take that one? ]

[Luke is surprised at two way communication. That shit's pretty advanced! But he's more freaked out about where he is, obviously.]

A... space ship.

[He blinks slowly.]

I don't get it.

Mmm.. [ She taps her lips with one finger, trying to think of a good way to explain things. ]

Go find a window and look out. But try not to get motion sick or anything - you're literally on a ship, in space. Stars, planets, and stuff? We all got dragged onto this fleet. You just got here, so you're on the flagship - the main ship we all have to follow. That help at all?

[ And if you go find that window, she'll just sit here and be patient. ♥ ]

All right... hold on.

[He does go to the window. When he's there, he gasps aloud, but he doesn't flip out. He's among the stars, among the moons. He never would've guessed it was possible to be in the heavens like this. Usually you have to die first.

When he pulls away, he has a sense of calm. There's no denying what he's seeing.]

How is this possible? We're literally sailing in the heavens. I feel like we're gonna fall any minute...

[ Holding... ... (nom nom)

Well, at least he doesn't flip out! She smiles, gently, and has the grace to swallow her mouthful of popcorn before speaking. ]

It does feel that way... but you won't! Don't worry about that. We might all have been dragged here and trapped, but they're not going to let us suddenly fall, or float away into unknown space.

[He's still rooted to the floor, but... dang.]

There's only me and one other guy here. How do I get to where you are?

You can't yet. They'll assign you to one of the other ships, and once you're there, you can use shuttles to get to wherever you'd like. Other ships, stations, moons, planets... whatever we find while we're all following that big tugboat you're in now~ Ah, anyway, that's... in a few days, or so. I don't know exactly how long. I haven't been keeping up with time very well, sorry~

[ Even if she'd been trying to keep up with the time... it'd just give her an excuse to sleep in and be late for things as usual. So maybe it's for the best. ]

I'm from Meltokio. It's the biggest and safest place in all of Tethe'alla. I-- I miss it a lot, but it'll be a while before I can go back.

What about you? Where are you from?

Hmm. I don't think I've heard of either of those places... I'm from Sakurashin, a town in Japan. I... miss home, too. I've been here a while.

[ She only lets her expression stay nostalgically sad for maybe one full second. Then, she's back to that little smile of hers. ]

I was on a journey before I got here. It's nice to see the world, but... home is really important.

[Anyway.]

I've never heard of Japan. What's it like?

[ You can hear the soft smile in her tone. She definitely knows home attachment very well. ]

Japan is... crowded. [ She laughs a little. ] Well, the cities are crowded. Sakurashin is a smaller town. Not as many people, but our population is a little more strange~

Ah, and it's warm, too - at least where I lived. I remember visiting another country once, and I was shocked at how cold it was! [ That's because it was Germany. West Germany. That's cold. ] But, it's very pretty. And it's home.
