[ last time he posted anything, he was a nervous wreck and kind of nauseous. the changes the past two months have left in him are impossible to miss; winn is smiling, upbeat, and almost comfortable. the nervous energy that is there has more to do with his addressing a bunch of strangers than the constant fear of death by space-stuff that overshadowed his first feed. ]

Hi, if we don't know each other - I'm Winn Schott. If we do know each other...I'm still Winn Schott - [ shaking his head, why hasn't he learned from the last time? prepare a script! ]

Anyway! I've been here for a couple months now, and it's been interesting - and I mean that in the original sense of the word. Think about it - not only are we in outer space [ there's only a slight wince at that, and even a lot of excitement. space is terrifying - but it's also really cool ] - but we have a once in a lifetime opportunity to reach across the multiverse and learn things that haven't even been dreamed up in our worlds yet. I've been learning - a ton from just casually talking to people, but there is a much better way to do this if we all cooperate, [ open source. it's the way of the future! ] and I know I'm not the only one out there who's interested!

So, I've got a suggestion for anyone who thinks that's really cool - and - pity for anyone who doesn't [ and by pity, he means judgment. he gestures excitedly with his hands as he introduces his brilliant concept ] - 2016: A Space-Time Odyssey - a series of free weekly lectures about anything and everything we've got here. Talks about different worlds, science, history, art lessons, concerts - I know we've got some musicians here - basically anything anyone signs up to talk about, teach, perform, or however you communicate things where you're from. Since we don't have a lecture hall we can broadcast the talks - give ourselves a fun routine....and if that doesn't work for someone, I can post the notes I'm so gonna take of all of these. Who's in? Who wants to go first?

I was thinking of starting off with the internet.

[he's certainly not alone feeling that way]

Really? [he doesn't bother to hide the excited interest in his voice] Are there a lot of people who aren't familiar with it?

Too many.

[ it breaks his heart, ok. but that excitement glues it back together. ]

I'm gonna do what I can to change that. If you got questions, lay them on me, it'll help me put the lecture together.

[he has an appreciation for the internet already, Winn, and it's all your fault]

Of course I have questions. I can come up with a few general ones, though? Since - I think I'm more interested in how it works, rather than what it's used for.

[ you mean one of his proudest accomplishments. ]

I could give a lecture on that too, but I don't think it'd be as popularly appealing. We could talk about that one on one.

[ as they will genetics because a basic lecture is not going to satisfy him, no way. ]

It looks like you've got a few interested parties, though - that's - really great.

[ the internet is used for so many pointless purposes, at least that's a fairly harmless one. ]

Yeah, I'm glad people are going along with it -- it'd be pretty sad it ended up being me talking to myself. It's be familiar -- but sad.

[he's only heard the innocent uses, how long will it be until he learns what else is involved?]

It would be. [said in the tone of someone who's also familiar with talking to himself] But I'm glad that isn't the case. It's a shame there isn't a lecture hall somewhere, though.

[ a while, if he only talks to winn about it. right now, he's taking a rose-tinted-glasses approach to home, because worrying about home and here at the same time is causing him too much anxiety. he'd rather focus on the positive. ]

Maybe someday we'll have a better set up. For now, I'll take what we can get.

[ah, yes, focusing on the positive is a great idea]

Mm, so will I. I certainly don't mind broadcasting from the lab, anyway. [considering he practically lives in there as of late]

[ positive thinking to the point of delusion: his next lecture topic? ]

I'm gonna try to get a place where we can fit at least some sort of live audience. The Iskaulit seems like the best candidate, worst case scenario we can ask if we can sit in one of the bars, we had bar lectures in college, those were always fun.

[an excellent topic, Hank will be the first to tune in]

Bar lectures? Really? [he can't help but huff a little] If we had those, I was too young to attend. But something like that - it might work out better than a traditional set-up.

[ will he tune in for his cosplay lecture too? ]

Yeah we had them some weekends, they usually turned into more of a casual guided discussion - but as a lecturer that'd definitely work better for me anyway.

[of course, Winn and Cisco aren't the only costume makers here]

It's a good idea. There's gardens over there too, right? Something like that might work as well. Just - getting out and getting together, so everyone can get involved in the lecture. It's - easier than just talking away for thirty minutes.

[ proving yet again that they are, in fact, their respective worlds' versions of each other. ]

Right? I mean I have no problem rambling for half an hour or half a day, but some feedback would be nice, and it'll help steer the talk towards what actually interests other people.

[it's incredibly true. No wonder they get along so well]

Yeah, exactly. I've found that it's easier to - retain information that way? If people get involved. And it sort of sets the pace for the lecturer too.

And I'm gonna want to ask a million questions as a listener.

I'm expecting it. [and looking forward to it; he's rusty, sure, but when he was teaching, it was an experience he found incredibly rewarding]

You can send files through these things, right?

[ hold onto those feelings, hank, because that number may actually be an understatement. ]

Yeah, you need a hand with it? [ he should not be excited about getting to play tech support. and yet. ]

[oh he knows, and he doesn't mind at all. Bring it, Winn]

I—. . . yeah. [he huffs, amused] If you wouldn't mind.

[ oh it will be brought. ]

Dude, it's how I paid for college.

[ mind it? he's grateful for the opportunity to feel useful, if even for a second. he launches into a precise step-by-step explanation. ]

[gosh does he appreciate Winn and his tech-based knowledge]

Usually is, if it gets complicated 10 times out of 9 it's the instructor, not the tech.

[ except for vista. vista was bad tech. ]
