Who: Winn
Broadcast: Fleetwide video
Action: the Tourist
When: now!
[ last time he posted anything, he was a nervous wreck and kind of nauseous. the changes the past two months have left in him are impossible to miss; winn is smiling, upbeat, and almost comfortable. the nervous energy that is there has more to do with his addressing a bunch of strangers than the constant fear of death by space-stuff that overshadowed his first feed. ]
Hi, if we don't know each other - I'm Winn Schott. If we do know each other...I'm still Winn Schott - [ shaking his head, why hasn't he learned from the last time? prepare a script! ]
Anyway! I've been here for a couple months now, and it's been interesting - and I mean that in the original sense of the word. Think about it - not only are we in outer space [ there's only a slight wince at that, and even a lot of excitement. space is terrifying - but it's also really cool ] - but we have a once in a lifetime opportunity to reach across the multiverse and learn things that haven't even been dreamed up in our worlds yet. I've been learning - a ton from just casually talking to people, but there is a much better way to do this if we all cooperate, [ open source. it's the way of the future! ] and I know I'm not the only one out there who's interested!
So, I've got a suggestion for anyone who thinks that's really cool - and - pity for anyone who doesn't [ and by pity, he means judgment. he gestures excitedly with his hands as he introduces his brilliant concept ] - 2016: A Space-Time Odyssey - a series of free weekly lectures about anything and everything we've got here. Talks about different worlds, science, history, art lessons, concerts - I know we've got some musicians here - basically anything anyone signs up to talk about, teach, perform, or however you communicate things where you're from. Since we don't have a lecture hall we can broadcast the talks - give ourselves a fun routine....and if that doesn't work for someone, I can post the notes I'm so gonna take of all of these. Who's in? Who wants to go first?

[ you'd think spending the last couple of months in space, and finding out that his best friend of two years is an alien would cool him off being really stupidly excited about finding out about them - but you'd be wrong. ]
Well there're a lot of different earths and they all have different cultures, even within the same earth there're massive cultural differences. But I definitely intend to talk about aspects of my earth's culture, and if there are specific things she'd be interested in she's welcome to give me a call, talking a lot has never been a problem for me - [ though he hides it so well! ]
VIDEO
I don't know if she's interested in anything in particular about it. She just has this idea that we should sit together for a couple hours and watch something. She's been rummaging through the media library on the Iskaulit. I'd rather she learn it. uh. Another way.
[ Because talking animals is really weird ]
VIDEO
No earth at all, really? As in, there's nothing in the coordinates of earth, or it's too far away to know?
[ he's considered a lot of things in multiverse theory but somehow the thought of no earth at all didn't quite consciously occur to him before. it's a weird concept, to think of a universe where the whole of humanity never was. ]
Yeah -- there's none of the good stuff there, though watching crappy movies with a friend is kind of an earth tradition.
[ maybe he and kara should do that sometime, taste of normalcy. ]
VIDEO
It's not likely. Almost all systems and/or planets inhabited by humans are in connection with Coruscant, either in some form of public record or known to us at the Jedi Temple library. Besides, I've been through a lot of systems and earth is something we sometimes call dirt. If you know the coordinates of it, I could give you a rough estimate of what's there.
[ A beat ] Not that we would even have the same coordinate system.
Anyway. I wouldn't say they're "crappy" but I wouldn't mind watching something that wasn't about cartoon lions.
[ Ugh, there was so much singing ]
VIDEO
[ he nods. man, he wishes he knew the coordinates to earth - going back to this dimension's version of earth might be interesting - it might even be good. ]
Well, you know, cartoon lions are the staple of earth entertainment. [ nodding very seriously. is he kidding? who can tell! (of course he's kidding). ]
VIDEO
[ He got so annoyed with that one song. It's hard to appreciate anything else about it. Other than the sweet sweet revenge. ]
So what are you going to talk about in your lecture?
VIDEO
[ go ahead. push him into singing. he's a disney kid, he will. ]
Ah - the internet! Home of the cat videos.
[ if you want to conclude that felines are earth's overlords -- he's not sure he can argue with that, honestly. ]
VIDEO
Quick change of subject before singing happens. ]
Cat videos.
[ He doesn't get it. Cat overlords would be the most likely explanation though. ]
Is this ...thing with cats just popular with your earth or is it with all earths?
VIDEO
Oh yeah, cats are humanity's true overlords across time and space.
[ he nods with a seriousness of someone who surveyed (he didn't). ]
Or was it mice? [ scratching his chin. ] Yeah, yeah it's definitely mice, cats are the circus act.
