[ last time he posted anything, he was a nervous wreck and kind of nauseous. the changes the past two months have left in him are impossible to miss; winn is smiling, upbeat, and almost comfortable. the nervous energy that is there has more to do with his addressing a bunch of strangers than the constant fear of death by space-stuff that overshadowed his first feed. ]

Hi, if we don't know each other - I'm Winn Schott. If we do know each other...I'm still Winn Schott - [ shaking his head, why hasn't he learned from the last time? prepare a script! ]

Anyway! I've been here for a couple months now, and it's been interesting - and I mean that in the original sense of the word. Think about it - not only are we in outer space [ there's only a slight wince at that, and even a lot of excitement. space is terrifying - but it's also really cool ] - but we have a once in a lifetime opportunity to reach across the multiverse and learn things that haven't even been dreamed up in our worlds yet. I've been learning - a ton from just casually talking to people, but there is a much better way to do this if we all cooperate, [ open source. it's the way of the future! ] and I know I'm not the only one out there who's interested!

So, I've got a suggestion for anyone who thinks that's really cool - and - pity for anyone who doesn't [ and by pity, he means judgment. he gestures excitedly with his hands as he introduces his brilliant concept ] - 2016: A Space-Time Odyssey - a series of free weekly lectures about anything and everything we've got here. Talks about different worlds, science, history, art lessons, concerts - I know we've got some musicians here - basically anything anyone signs up to talk about, teach, perform, or however you communicate things where you're from. Since we don't have a lecture hall we can broadcast the talks - give ourselves a fun routine....and if that doesn't work for someone, I can post the notes I'm so gonna take of all of these. Who's in? Who wants to go first?

If they care for you, why would they hold you to vows you had to make?

[ she may try to paint a pretty picture, but it seems pretty clear to him that she never had a choice in the matter. ]

You have a choice now. You don't have to be afraid anymore.

We must all perform out duties, for our houses, our father, gods, husbands. No women chooses her vows with much freedom.

[ not even the highest of nobility ]

And I have little here in ways of knights and armies. I am not afraid, I am merely - concerned. There are a few here who would gladly see me fall. I would not give them the satisfaction.

You know where I'm from - that's considered an archaic way of thinking. Women can make exactly the same decisions as men. Kara and I work for a woman - and trust me, no army in the world's got a chance against her.

[ ms. grant is scary.

he frowns at that confession. ]

Who is it? [ they're all keeping things, aren't they. it really is true, there isn't a single person on this fleet whose life was just...good, normal, happy. ]

[ she smiles at his words. imagines a world in which men work for women. certainly, the tyrell men are softer towards them, there is a well known secret that the women of the house are the truly clever ones but to be subjected to one, well. ]

It matters little. They can do no harm to me here, not without it being known and they have their own enemies to worry of.

[ robb stark cannot be very happy with theon greyjoy. ]

Of course it matters. [ he squeezes her hand ] Margaery - I know what being judged and hated from things that aren't in your control is like - I know what it does to a person. You're clearly worried - and I'm your friend. I wanna be there for you. I'm not from your world. I don't have any agenda besides caring about you - you can trust me.

[ can he and should he trust her? irrelevant, he already does. ]

[ she could, couldn't she? she is not stupid enough to imagine people don't have new agendas in this weird world but she knows honesty when she sees it too, it's a very rare trait, after all. ]

Lord Tyrion is a friend as well as Lady Sansa. As for the others, they all have reasons to loathe me, I do not know if they do.

[ she is silent for another moment ]

Only one had issued a threat. He asked - how long will a flower last away from the sun and its world. How long before a flower wilts. Not the most - clever of threats.

How many are there?

[ it's a relief to know that tyrion isn't a part of the problem - he' kitty's friend. he wants him to be a good person. ]

Who said that? [ it's not their way with words that worries her, he's sure. it worries him - but only a little. words hurt, yes, but actions get you hurt. ]

Some are Sansa's kin, they loathe the king yet I think - they do not fault me for marrying him. I have spoken to her brother, Robb Stark, the King in the North. He is suspicious as he ought to be of anyone not an ally but I do not think he wishes me harm. The one who said that.

[ she tidies the ends of her gown ]

Theon Greyjoy. His house dislikes mine, as the Greyjoys loathe all the lords of Westeros. They have their own ways and their own god.

[ he makes a mental note to look the guy up on the network, and tell kitty to keep an eye out for him. and kara. ]

Which ship is he on?

I do not know, he never said.

[ and in truth, she hadn't shown an active interest either, not with nova promising her protection, not with being in the good graces of sansa and lord tyrion but now - ]

I could try asking.

Don't worry about it - I'll look him up on the register.

[ taking out his communicator, he runs a quick search. ]

SS Paisley. If he ever - says anything or does anything again, tell me, ok? And tell Kitty, especially if she's around you, she'll keep you safe. Kara too.

I shall tell you, if he does.

[ as for the two ladies, she says nothing. he will know the meaning of that, she knows. for all her kindness and her charm, margaery tyrell would not take haste in trusting too many people.

it is far too dangerous, a far too great a risk. ]

[ trusting kara and kitty is so natural to him, he can't process the concept of not doing it unless outright told. ]

It's gonna be ok, Margaery. [ he squeezes her hand, trying to be reassuring. ] You've got a lot more friends than enemies here. [ and while he may not be the most impressive of protectors - kara (even half powered as she is) and kitty are. vision looks like someone who shouldn't be trifled with either, and he seems to really care about his crew, wrath too. he's glad she's on the windrose. ]

[ she cannot see it as that, not for now. she has friends, certainly and enemies, to be certain. can she trust her friends to mind her safety as fiercely as she can trust her enemies to loathe her, now there is a question.

but she does smile at that, small as sweet. ]

You must be right. Forgive me, I suppose I do so miss my brother. It's the longest we have ever been apart. He was always so devoted to me.

[ he can't really not hug her when she says that, now can he? ]

I know I'm not your brother, but until we get you back to him, you can count on me.

[ it's his pain with kara all over again - she needs alex. he can't give her alex back. all he can do is be their poor man's replacement. ]
