[Felix had awoken from sleep feeling rather strange. To him, it seemed like a rather vivid dream even after he'd waken, albeit a dream that seemed to linger far more strongly than it should have after waking. He did sometimes dream of home, but none of them had been quite so mundane in their detail. He remembered traveling. Remembered the river and moment he'd simply...given up. To put it frankly. He'd almost forgotten that despair and anger that had swallowed him whole for months, and to recall it so strongly leaves him cold.

He also remembers the abandoned house, the smell of ash, the memory of burning...

It's that that wakes him up the first time, leaving him shaken but dismissing it, at first, as just another dream.

The nightmares continue for the next few days. More fleeting glimpses of terror, things and loved ones all around him burning before his eyes, screaming as metal melted and flesh singed to bone. And all the while, a feeling of something lurking. Watching him. Something he could always run from but never seem to be able to evade.

He wakes up with a shout more than once, sweating from the heat of that phantom fire. The fitful rest, combined with the fact that he hasn't had these kinds of nightmares for a long time, leaves a small toll. He busies himself, while he's on the ship like usual, though here and there he seems...distant. Distracted.

Most often he's in the kitchen, reading in his room, or in the cargo hold with the small collection of games he'd brought back from the moon. Most of them aren't suited to single player, but his major project is cobbling together a facsimile of a chessboard from the various strange games the locals played. Or cards. His tarot deck was good for that, at least.
