[If anyone ever had a doubt that Tyrion Lannister likes to keep himself occupied, today would be the day that he put all doubts to rest. His fingers flick against the side of his camera as he is reaching for a book. Which is good, because he's got three open now. He frowns at one paragraph, then pushes off with his chair - with wheels, fascinating things these.

Then he was picking up a screwdriver, turning to a tank that looked a great deal like the displays at the Green Museum, twisting a brace into place, eying it, then rolling back across the floor to check on the panels for the engine. He picked up a clipboard, put down the screwdriver and exchanged it for pencil while he marked off a few things on a list, then pushed himself off to roll back to his desk, where he flipped a page on his second book, muttering quietly to himself.]

'This means that the center of mass of the arrow–where gravity acts–is further forward than the center of pressure–where aerodynamic forces act. This results in the aerodynamic forces helping to stabilize the flight of the arrow.'

[He tapped the page, then pushed off again to his work-table, where a variety of weapons were lying on the surface, and plucked up the bow.] Yes, all right, that means I just need to change the density of the string and curve the bow a little more for the right amount of pressure per inch... good, good.

[He hummed as he put the bow back down, and reached underneath for his toolbox, singing softly to himself as he went through the varying strings he had gathered for said bow.]

I'm malicious, mean and scary

[Clearly, Tyrion is something of a workaholic, when he gets himself going.]

I can always use some of those. The more the merrier, and the more supplies I can get my hands on.

[it's a terrible curse, it makes him a pushover and do things like contact Trask's lookalike on the network]

That's a positive way to look at it. Maybe I should adopt the same outlook.

[speaking of, though - he's gonna do it. He's gonna remember his manners and do the thing]

Though - may I ask your name? I'm Hank - Hank McCoy.

[He pauses, then chuckles softly.]

Oh, I beg your pardon - I am Tyrion Lannister, of House Lannister.

It's a good saying. I'll keep it in mind.

[he can't quite keep the relief out of his voice]

Ah - it's nice to meet you, Tyrion.

Well, the longer you keep talking to me, the more pearls of wisdom I can bestow.

[Is his slightly ironic, but friendly response. He can hear the relief, bit odd that.]

A ... pleasure to meet you as well. I take it you have heard of me then?

[with humor in his voice] Well, I do love to learn. You won't hear any protests from me.

[there's an audible sigh, and - he switches the feed to video, and then to private. His expression is apologetic, at least, if a bit tired]

I haven't, actually. I'm sorry if I sounded rude at all, it's - you look like someone from my world. It's a really . . . really striking resemblance.

Oh good, because I am all about learning around here ...

[He pauses, as the feed goes to video and he sees a young man there, one he recognizes. The name clicks, finally.]

Ah! You are Hank, Kitty's friend. She pointed you out to me at the ball. [Another pause, before his lips twist.] There's another poor bastard out there who looks like me? What on earth did he do to deserve that?

Ah - that'd be me, yes. I look a little less- uh, blue today. [ha ha, jokes. He does quirk a smile at what Tyrion says]

He has darker hair, but - he does, yeah. [dryly] I'd ask what you did to deserve looking like him, honestly. He's a scientist where I'm from - and one that none of us are fond of.

That you do ... which is a shame, it was a charming shade. Really brought out your eyes.

[He leans back in his chair, arching an eyebrow with amusement -- and a little more keenness.]

If I am going to get this reaction again -- what precisely did he do?

[he blinks, but then he manages a smile] Thanks, I think. I get that more often then I'm used to.

[Hank opens his mouth, then pauses as he gets up from where he's sitting to go close the door to his lab]

You won't, because I'll speak to the others who might recognize you so it doesn't happen again. [he means that, too] But he's responsible for murdering a few people I know - probably more - and building giant robots, if you're familiar with those at all. They had the technology to identify mutants, as well.

You know, I have the same issue... do you know how many people call me handsome here? It's quite disconcerting to suddenly be considered attractive, isn't it?

[Now that got his eyebrows raising together, and he puts the bow down so he can focus.] Fascinating ... the entire purpose of these robots would be to hunt down and kill mutants? [He pressed his lips together.] Clearly my facetwin and I have have a difference in opinion about what counts as 'monsterous'.

It's incredibly disconcerting. [said in nothing but a sympathetic tone] I'm more used to the other way, or - at least, expecting the other way. [wryly] I don't get out much.

Right. Because we're a possible "threat". [there's a very clear difference in opinion, and . . . Hank can't put into words how relieving that is to hear. It put any remaining worries he had to rest] Monstrous, fascinating . . . with him, the words don't have much difference considering everything I know about him.

He's not a problem anymore, at least. He's been arrested and thrown in prison.

Now why is that? [He asked, tilting his head to the side.] You seem to be a smart young man. Reasonably attractive, for a tall fellow. I imagine you would have your share of young ladies. Or ... young gentlemen. I hear that is a much more open environment.

[He snorted softly.] Anyone can be a threat, if they have a rock and the gumption to be one. It seems to me he was the greater threat, with his dislike of being different - self-hatred turned against those most like him.

Long may he rot, then.

[he can't help but smile. He likes Tyrion a lot. He's so glad he took this well]

Thank you. But it probably has to do with the fact that when I don't look like this, I'm a towering, blue beast. I mean, I understand - people tend to be afraid of what they don't get. They see someone "different" and can't help but make assumptions. And - especially people who have considerable powers.

And - that's exactly it, I think. Long may he rot indeed.

[Well honestly, he is just pleased to know that his doppleganger is so much of a worst person than he is. He is the 'good twin'.]

I could not agree more ... of course, I do not have any considerable powers except for my intelligence. Just a strange appearance that people cannot seem to get past. Well, besides those truly worth my time. You, I am sure, will find the same.

[A brief nod. Honestly, his facial twin was something of an ass.]

[he really, truly is. If the man surviving hadn't meant what it did, he'd wish the bastard was dead]

I may be a bit biased, but intelligence can be just as powerful as having any sort of magic or whatnot. [after all, utterly brilliant men are some of the most dangerous] But - mm, the ones that matter are really the ones who can look past all of that.

[Some people are better off dead, but sometimes, those who should be dead need to be kept alive to meet their fate.]

[Oh, he rather likes you as well, Hank McCoy.] It seems we are of similar temperament then. [He nods his head.] And are of agreement of who matter. So since I do not care about your appearance, and you clearly don't care about mine. Would you care to be ...ah, friends?

[that's very true. And at least, if he dies in prison or from some other misfortune, it won't affect anything that they've done]

It would seem that way, yeah. [he blinks, but he immediately smiles wider] I won't say no to another friend.

[Tyrion always liked to think of what happened to his enemies that he had nothing to do with. For example, Cersei being captured by the High Sparrow? Purely pleasurable to hear.]

Then we shall have to make time to get together. Ah ... you do not drink, correct? [He didn't seem like a drinker.]

[Hank usually doesn't entertain the thought. But certain people certainly warranted it sometimes]

Not often, but I think I can handle a few drinks. [he's like two steps below social drinker and one step below "Charles Xavier is a bad influence" drinker]

[Certain people usually do.]

A few drinks shall be welcome, and then you can tell me what you do about here.

That sounds like a plan. When would you like to meet?

Hmmm, well. I have no plans this evening, if you are free.

I - can I give you a rain check? Tomorrow, perhaps?

[he'll definitely need it tomorrow, after all the news he's going to get]

Mmm, tomorrow I am meeting up with Kitty for wine and chess. What about the day after that?

[That way he can get the news, have a day to recover, and then go drink with Tyrion. Always a good life decision.]
