[Nami doesn't realise Robin's gone until she gets back late from tending bar, a long shift dealing with tiny night-terrored children and drunken ship captains. She works it out specifically by having the Atroma notice coming up designating that she's now the Captain.

Welp. There's a perfect ending to a long-ass day. She'll go... sleep on it. In her normal bunk. The whole captain's quarters thing can wait until tomorrow. Which is when, politely, she'll inform the rest of the Bloodsport.]

Robin's gone, if you haven't noticed already. [Wearily. She didn't know him well, but she still liked him. Out of the rest of them, maybe only Simon really knew him, so. She'll drop in and see him when she's done.]

The Atroma in their infinite wisdom have promoted me to Captain, which is something I hope they come to regret. If any of you have an issue with this, speak now or forever... etcetera. You know the drill. Otherwise I guess we'll see how this goes.

[I am obviously great Captain material, hi.]

[Apart from her broadcast, Nami will indeed to go check on Simon and try and ... familiarise herself with what a captain even does in this stupid place. Lord knows it's not anything worthwhile. You can find her on the bridge or investigating the captain's rooms.

Huh. Well, at least she has a decent bed.]

[Bigby wanders down to find Nami on the bridge eventually. He brings a couple of bottles of beer because he's classy like that.]

Congrats on being the least awful of us to be the Captain. Have a brew.

[Simon had gotten absorbed in a project, since the Fleet didn't seem to be moving from this planet any time soon, so he missed Nami's broadcast. She'd find him in the med lab, playing with the potions and chemicals he'd purchased on the planet.]

[Anyone looking for Simon would find him in the medlab, cataloguing the various plants and so on he'd been collecting in his time in the Fleet, according to things like smell, taste, texture, and what he presumed their effects might be if he didn't already know.

After he found out that Robin was gone, he could be found staring out a window every now and then, looking lost. Robin was one of the few people here that he felt close to, and he'd been a constant ever since Simon had arrived. Now, without that much, he was feeling even more isolated and lonely than ever before.]

How much longer am I going to be stuck here now?

The 'least awful', huh. [She grins, holding out a hand. Toss that bottle this way, she's a good catch.] Thanks.

It's kind of surprising. I guess they just know how bossy I can be.

[When she comes to the door and finds him messing with things, she wonders if he did miss it. Nami makes her presence known by a brief rap at the door.]

Hey. Can I come in?

[ For once? Sascha is not up and about, invading bedrooms or getting kicked in the face even though it is early evening, the time of day he usually wakes up and rolls out of Bigby's room to start the night. Heck, he isn't even there; didn't return there when mornign started and didn't spend the day dozing away either.

No, Sascha's doing what he very rarely does: spend time alone. He's holed himself up in the office provided thanks to his personnel support augment, albeit not because he wants to. He's turned off all the lights and closed the door, even gone so far as to shut his communicator off. His UV sunglasses have been discarded on top of the desk while Sascha himself lies across the sole couch in the room, breathing slowly as he holds an arm across his head.

Why?

Because that's what you do when you have migraines inflicted by exposing yourself to artificial light. Normally he can stomach the painful throbbing and shrug it off in favour of meeting people and saying hi, soaking up the oh-so-coveted attention. But it's all hitting him hard now, eyes and head positively pounding as if they're being crushed in some sort of compactor. There's sharp, shooting pain all the way to the base of his skull.

It's rather unbearable, but that's the price he pays for deciding to walk about with lights on or during the day, or using his communicator: with his eyes permanently dilated as they are, any sort of light hurts.

So now he's just doing his best to wait out the worst of it, breathing slowly and deliberately and for once not harassing anyone else.

Which clearly means you should do that to him instead. ]

[He throws the bottle over. Makes a nice difference to be sharing a dink with someone with thumbs.]

Makes sense to me. Who else was going to be made captain?

I suppose congratulations are in order?

[She's legitimately asking, because, judging from Nami's tone, she can't tell if her pirate acquaintance is all that happy about her promotion.]

[Simon looked up at Nami's knock and smiled, stepping away from his table.]

Absolutely- just don't get too close to the chemicals.

No fear there. [Dryly. She steps into the room and takes up a seat. Probably the same one she was sitting in when Simon treated Sam's hand.]

I'm guessing you didn't...just hear me on the network.

[Well, if you insist.

Honestly, her visit is actually motivated by mild concern, because it's not like him to vanish and Nami wonders if he's sulking over said late night face-kicking. Or, alternatively and worse, she actually did damage to him she wasn't aware of. Hmm.

So here she comes just to check on you.]

Sascha?

[Unfortunately, she does that by, uh. Turning on the light. Sorry. :D]

I'd think it was flattering if I didn't know already how little thought they put into it. The captain of the Huntress is a spirit most of his crew can't even talk to.

I guess so. I mean-- captains can't do that much here. But hey, at least I get a nice bedroom out of it.

[Mostly her announcement is coloured by the fact that Robin's gone.]

Well. [She cracks open the bottle, toasting him with it.] I'll take that as a compliment. Thanks.

[It wasn't. It was just a statement of fact.]

[ Oh god, why. Why. Sascha has literally no time to prepare for either the entrance or the light when they occur, leaving him to deal with the sudden burst of light that, while shielded by his arm? Still manages to burn and make him yell in pain when it happens, throwing himself off the couch and onto the floor as he grabs his face with both hands and covers his eyes, because wow now he's blind for real, thanks Nami. ]

It's beer. In a place like this, I'll take what I can get.

[OMG I am the best captain-- she switches the lights off again immediately, but damage is done, I guess. Ugh.]

Sorry! [And she pitches that way quieter, because at a guess--] Migraine? I didn't know.

Uuuuguhhhnnnn..... [ Yep, that's the sound of absolute misery here. Sascha feels ill enough to vomit now, and he's officially gone blind: his retinas are completely burnt out and need to heal. ]

[Because it's where he feels more at home getting things.]

[Simon's expression turned serious at that.]

I didn't, no... something happened. [It wasn't a question, a mere statement of fact.]

Hi. [I swear I wasn't here to cause you more pain, dude :c She lets the door close behind her, which shuts out the rest of the minimal light. Not that it makes much of a difference now.]

You know, Simon can probably help. Have you been to see him?

No....I can't see anything now... [ whine whine, groan. Sascha's just could to stay huddled up on the floor here, voice muffled by it as he rubs the heels of his hands into his eyes. ]
