[You would think someone was holding Mystique at gun point with the initial look she gave the camera, looking none too happy to be making this broadcast, but a huff of a sigh and roll of her eyes later and she managed to compose herself to a more neutral expression. She of course could fake a more fitting emotion easily, she was well versed in acting a part but since this wasn’t a mission she saw no point in pretending to be something she isn’t. Others would just have to deal with that fact.]

After being in talks with other occupants of our current predicament, it seems the best way to past time here between our semi regular stops is to take up a hobby or something of the likes. And considering I came here with practically nothing, [Not that Mystique needed much, yet she certainly had been missing her weapons until she was on board the Golden and had gotten access to guns again, sating her need to be constantly armed.] And I have been told my typical actions are not the most practical choices here, [There was a pause as she seemed to struggle with saying the next words, as if the entire idea disgusted her.] I would be interested to know what others do as hobbies or to past the time. [That may be the closest to her asking for help that most here are going to get out of her.]

I am willing to swap information. I may not be practiced in more mundane activities but I do have a wide knowledge on more specialized topics if someone wants practice on how to arm and protect themselves.

[ He had honestly expected her to dismiss him. She would be within rights and of course, Mystique knows what's best for herself. Charles couldn't force the connection he had with Raven on her.

But it really shows how a fresh start and a little kindness can go so far. Perhaps they'll never be friends, not with their strange history, but he is proud, deeply so. ]

It may not be a smart idea of Charles to contact her after the video she had just put out, her pride bruised a little that she in fact even said anything, let alone broadcast it for all to see and hear. Due to that, her tone was a little harsher than he really deserved, considering it was his words that pushed her to actually do something, not just sit around isolated in her room.] Charles.

[But as with her video, it was a sigh that pushed her past the initial answer, losing a touch of the attitude that had been placed behind his name.] It wasn't like I had a lot of other options.

Our options are fairly limited in the Fleet.

[ None of them can safely navigate anything with ease. Even Charles has trouble now and then. ]

I think you're familiar with my hobbies. [he starts out tentatively] But aside from that I like to read, as well. I make use of the obstacle course on the Iskaulit too, sometimes.

There's no way for Raven to really deal with this properly, and for a long time she just stares at the device in front of her and considers her options. She can't really ignore it forever and there doesn't seem much use in pretending that the other woman doesn't exist, so her best choice is just to... Go with it. To go with the flow.

It sounds stupid when she thinks it, but in action... ]

[Now here is something interesting - or rather, someone interesting. She seems to be radiating disdain, which reminds him oh-so-sharply as Cersei. Still, might as well see what makes this particular woman tick.]

And what exactly are you spending your time doing? [She instantly flipping it back around to him, she on enough of an edge over this whole... thing that her temper may flare up with the wrong set of words put to her.]

Has it actually offered any insight to aiding us, or just as fruitless as everything else here seems to be?

And I was never one much for reading for the sake of it. [Not beyond gathering information for or due to a mission. Yet his other comment was more interesting.] They have an obstacle course?

[The look she gave him showed his suggestion was oh so helpful... or not, yet it was pushed aside with a shake of her head.] More so than I had first realized. [Or had thought about. 'Settling in' had been a little difficult due to her coming to terms with what she had left back in her world, seeing her 'children' here, including one from another universe, and apparently 'her' sibling.

Yet, it was also far too easy to get caught up in her own mind. She needed something to occupy her thoughts.] Not all of us are satisfied with just playing chess.

[Casting a critical eye over another she did not recognize from her linking images up to names, Mystique's gaze took in what it could via the video feed, but not dismissing Raven's comment yet as true or false. She knows that appearances were very misleading, and just because this girl didn't look 'the part' meant nothing in reality.]

It's an important skill, even if at first this place seems friendly. ['Kick ass', hm, it was like being around the Brotherhood boys again. Youth, ugh.]

Is that a really nice way of saying my interests are boring? [he appreciates that she's trying. He'll have to say something about it later, that he's glad she's putting out this much effort - especially with people who know her an entirely different way]

There is, if you want to call it that. I'm not one for - uh, the standard working out like most people do.

I do have a substantial workload at the moment.

[ Though he might not clarify, but Charles has requests for therapy, help with powers and so forth coming out of his ears. ]

[He gave her a sharp smile, his mismatched eyes glinting.] There is very little documentation - but there is a great deal of other information one can make use of, if one is imaginative.

[Oh, hey! More non-humans. Ahsoka's always pleased to see more non-humans.]

Well, I like to go to the gym, spar, practice katas. Meditate. Work on engineering projects. Browse the media library. There's a lot of weird stuff in there from Earth.

Giving you grandchildren. [Raven has only herself--another self--to blame for his impertinence.

After a second he sobers, shrugging.] Study the communications system. Spend time with Kitty and try to make connections with my crew mates and other interesting prisoners. Catch up on years of sleep.

You work fast, [Oh really Charles, do tell.] Our current mutation population, or are you branching out from that?

[That initial answer of his actually caused Mystique a moment of spluttering, not at all use to that type of answer aimed her way or that kind of attitude. It didn't help that her actual son was still only a teen and he better not be knocking up any random girls! Or at least he should make sure it was a mutant one, and as far as she knew there were not too many of those floating around on the ships. Really, Kitty was the main option she knew about, and the mix of teleporting genes and phasing ones could end up interesting. The possibilities of a very stealthy mutant.]

Is she the one you're trying to breed with? [It was said with a completely straight face, no hint that she had recovered enough to know that yes, he was messing around with her and turning that idea back on him. You may think you're smart Kurt Darkholme, but she has many years over you, don't you forget it.]

Hardly, [It was more the closest she will admit to not being all knowing and amazing and wonderful in every way. One does not show weakness, including intellectual ones.] I think we both know when I want to I don't waste time with niceties.

Are you planning to use it in your current form? [Because, well, the change is rather obvious that he has made himself up a batch of his serum again. Though it did raise a very important question, and possibly a dangerous one depending how he answered it.] How did you change your appearance again? This is not the creation you made with my DNA, is it? [Because as far as she knew she was the only source of that on the ships, and that would mean he had taken it without her permission.]

Sounds like you're going to be busy for the foreseeable future then. Clearly you need to hire a secretary to keep things all organize. [She may be teasing you a little, Charles.]

I'm a little short on the help, I'm afraid. Other than Hank, the other mutants don't know me that well and vice-versa. It'll take time for that to thaw.

[ Not that he's holding it against them. Save maybe Kurt, but Kurt is a bundle of issues for Charles. ]
